Redstoke Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Has anyone else had issues with the quality of the new kit? Have bought both the home and away shirts for my young lads and the lettering is falling off the home shirt and the away purple shirt has bobbled up and threads appearing everywhere after only a month. Not a dig as the previous couple of kits have been pretty decent and lasted well. Anyone else had issues or have i just been unlucky??
MarcusX Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Haven't washed mine yet, only worn once, but it did seem to me like the lettering on the sponsor might not last long
Pickle Rick Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Yea my purple shirt had an imprint of the badge and BS logo on the back as it must've reacted to heat. Was obviously pressed right through the shirt. Noticed this on some other people's shirts. I got a replacement shirt delivered in person.
kiwicolin Posted September 2, 2017 Posted September 2, 2017 Bought red home shirt and the collar around the neck is annoying. Washed it first time last week , so will see if it is different.
Redstoke Posted September 2, 2017 Author Posted September 2, 2017 The home shirt looks good but the quality of it is terrible to be honest. Its falling apart after only a month.
ZiderEyed Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Not bought it but it's ridiculous that its falling to bits after shelling out 50 odd quid for it.

Dollymarie Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 I always wash shirts inside out as that seems to help maintain the lettering etc. I've got the purple shirt which has been washed a few times so far (no issues yet) and foster son has both home and away. Will keep an eye on them. I take it you don't need to take the receipt back in with you, should any problems arise? Just I don't have them any more.
iamalagerdrinker Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 This happened to my shirt the second time I put it on but to be fair to the shop they sent me a new one and was brilliant about the whole situation, I couldn't fault them. New one now is great! I personally think the quality is the best I've ever had
Meh Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 It's alright - neck is annoying but it was in the 80s 90s too !! Just keep pulling it up slightly at the back and then forward at the front and it don't cling so much !!
Guest Euan BCFC Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 The lettering on the inside of my home kit is coming off, other than that's both kits are fine

city1983 Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 I went to buy a home shirt at the milwall game I think as I think it's the nicest shirt we've had in years. But I didn't like the feel of the fabric, just felt really cheap, plus I'd seen comments about the itchy neck. Glad I didn't bother. It's a shame though because it looks great and would have been the first shirt I'd have bought in years.
JoeAman08 Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 I hate how the stripes don't line up on a lot of the home shirts. Where the front and back meet on your shoulders you'll see what I mean
Septic Peg Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 I'm getting an away shirt soonish (Having Peg written on the back so if you see me out and about in it, say hello!) so will make sure I wash inside out. I normally hand wash for the first few goes anyway.

Magic Man Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Already this season I've returned a kids home shirt and a pair of away shorts for similar problems mentioned above. Both had stitching come apart within days of buying them. Anyway the shop were really good and swapped them both without fuss. Interestingly the shop manager said to me the material used for this years shirt is a lot thinner than in previous years and the reason for this was so the replica kit and the kit worn by the team was the same product. Apparently in the past the replica kit has always been made from a thicker material than that worn by the players. I'm not sure if this is true but he sounded like he knew what he was talking about...
anonym0u5 Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 The neck is itchy as. The lettering has totally peeled off mine. I love the design but but the quality of BS gear for the price leaves alot to be desired it's not adidas, puma or nike... the SL machine keeps on going...

Sounds reasonable, last kit I bought was the first BS purple and lime and I thought it was quite thick to actually play in. Didn't feel like it would be comfortable or very breathable wouldnt be surprised if the actual team went through several sets of shirts over a season

Brizzol Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Only problem I had with lettering was when I tumble dried (my fault) The collar was ridiculously itchy though.
kmpowell Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Quick question - are there ‘Pro fit’ shirts available this year as well as the ‘Standard fit’?
wendyredredrobin Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 I think they replaced the standard fit ones with tomlin fit versions. Most find them much too baggy.
Tomo Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 The quality is very poor. And the neck is awful. My neck was red raw after half hour of wearing it!

GrenadaRed Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Has anyone else found a solution to the itchy neck problem? Is it a bad batch, or are they all the same? My 9 year old won't wear it as it itches too much. We've washed it and he's tried a few times, but he can't bare it. Any ideas?

If so then I'm going for "Well it could have been worse sir, our sheep have ran off with the custard". Did I get close?

Crazy as it sounds I've been wearing a thin T shirt under the City home shirt, keeps that collar off my skin and hence stops the itching. Letters peeling off already and bobbling on the front too - really disappointed with the quality.
