Not expecting anything controversially awarded then, imagine he'll want a nice quiet boring game to get himself back to reffing in the prem.

Wasn't the Birmingham ref last season a Premier League one? He was the worst we've had in years.

Martin Atkinson from West Yorkshire,so I presume he will taying the night some where near Bristol

Seems he loves yellow cards as opposed to red yards

He issues approx four yellows per match

Haven't you answered your own question?

We've lost both previous games Atkinson has officiated for us. 4-1 at West Brom in 2007 & 3-2 at Luton in 2004. On both occasions he booked two City players.

This will be his first visit to Ashton Gate, as he won't have visited the previous incarnation can we trick him into thinking we're a big club so we get decisions in our favour? ;)

Fair question and to be honest can't actually name particular games. Comment was made based on trying to remember comments made on here following games. Maybe was a bit of an unfair comment

Fair enough Ivan. Refs aren't perfect but they have a really difficult job to do with fans and the media on their backs the whole time. The problem is that there is very little respect shown by players/fans in the game. Football has now become a money grabbing exercise and the whole idea of fair play and respect particularly at the highest level has long gone. Add to that the media/press analysing every decision in order to create headlines and controversy. Rugby is not perfect as far as attitudes towards refs, but there is respect shown to them by players and fans. Nigel Owens is a perfect example of a ref who takes no nonsense from players - and they respect him for it.

Refs will always make mistakes, but all have the best interests of the game at heart. Let's show a little more respect to them and thank them for putting themselves through a very stressful 90 minutes each week.

If you'd been at Bristol v Hartpury fame a couple of weeks ago, most of the crowd were totally bemused by the useless twerp with the whistle.

He was and absolutely dreadful.

Better referees than him in the Western Prem.

Timewasting started around 20 minutes in and he did nothing.

Goalkeeper got a final warning in the first half, then 6 or 7 more in the second half before eventually getting booked right at the end.

Lee Mason, just seemed to want to get the game over with and get a lift home form his mate 'Arry. One of the worse performances form a Ref I have seen down there for a long long time.
