A sneaky 1-0 win I'm thinking with Fammy on the scoresheet.

Feeling sick about this, nobody looks forward to the derby up here. The thought of losing is just awful.

It's great if you win though.

We in Bristol can totally understand your concerns. But luckily enough for us they are proper shit . Hope you win by the way. Great game for the neutral

Talksport said they (Blades) are struggling, especially up front and that this makes you slight favourites.

PS hope you win, not keen on Sheff U (Think it's Warnock)

How many Sheffield derby's are there?

Got to say I prefer United, although we have a lot of Wednesday lads on here, good posters but I've played with Sheffield United on football manager every season. I'll be watching it, cracking game from a neutral perspective.

You have my sympathy .

We have forgotten what it's like to lose to a team in the vicinity of our City .

Fair enough, maybe it's because I've never done gaming, but the idea that you might form your opinion of football and football clubs based on computer games seems utterly bizarre to me!

These things used to happen through your experiences in the real world. I suppose I'm just an old**** though :(

The attachment you develop to really weird clubs is astonishing. FC Groningen in Holland are another one for me, same with Saprissa in Costa Rica.

CS Maritimo in Portugal and Deportiva La Coruna in Spain.

Good luck against the blunts, lot of time for Wednesday after we were applauded out of Sheffield after beating Utd in the old style play offs.

Ah you're right there my friend. All I want for Christmas is a Dukla Prague away kit.

I`ve always preferred them TBH. At least they don`t smash the place up when we beat them like the other Sheffield lot.

I ran a Subbuteo league in Filton for three years as a teenager and was always Sheff U.

The reason is that most wanted to be City or Rovers and so we drew lots for them. I lost out and the reason for the Blades is that I'd gone to Bramall Lane early in 1958 season. Sat in cafe on John St before the game chatting with the Sheff U players. England and Blades keeper, Alan Hodgkinson, gave us four lads, complimentary tickets. We lost 4-0 and came back on the train with the City players. Bert Tindill gave me a bottle of beer from the players crates. So always look for their results. Great memory of the good old days and I still have the programme autographed by both teams.

That's a fantastic story, amazing the difference with today, just being able to chat to some footballers in a cafe.

First and foremost I will be looking for a stream or feed for our trip to Norwich. Doubt there's any but never know eh.

Regards the other games, always preferred Sheffield United personally. Seem more authentic IMO.

Old Firm usually decent enough.

Me though, City stream or radio aside, I reckon I'll be looking at Juventus-Torino.

It's a derby for one and second Torino much improved recent years so it should be competitive.

Drove home to Bridgwater that night with half our mini bus windows smashed in.

Have been to Wednesday a few times, good ( very big club ) club, good fans, should be in the top league.

Clearly it was! But not because a load of other teams had won away games this weekend..!

I didn't see the game, but looking at the goals, what a game that must have been in a Derby!

I bet Sheffield United fans must have loved it!

I'm not a betting man, but I'd be interested to see which odds were offered on an accumulator for all five games to be away wins.

Yeah, a lot wanted him gone after the playoff semi final defeat against Huddersfield. I've tried to remain sensible after 2 consecutive top 6 finishes but its hard to defend a diabolical display like that. We were second best all over the pitch and got exactly what we deserved.

Yeah, can't stand em. This is the worst one for Wednesday since I've been alive. We're at home to Leeds on tv next weekend in another derby, dreading it.

That must have been particularly hard to stomach.

Pulling back level from 0-2 down, only to go and concede again immediately. Ouch!

Yeah, even though I obviously went mad when we equalised, the first thing I said was "undeserved". It would have been a robbery if we'd got anything out of it.

Ex-player Leon Clarke scoring twice as well. :sad26:

We feel your pain my friend, we`ve all been there many times!

At least you`ve got a midweek game (Brum away?) to try and put it right - I`m a firm believer in needing to get back out there as soon as possible. Imagine if today had happened next weekend with the two week break coming up.............

I'm THAT old I can remember Rovers beating us at AG.................horrible. I did feel sorry for you lot (no axe to grind either way)          It's worse losing at home in a derby somehow !

I feel your pain but Wednesday strike me as being a bit like Derby , feel entitled to be in the top six and I feel have lost momentum.

Derby looked jaded and old against our youthful, hungry team .

Owl visiting, quick question, why weren't Sheffield United given the lower Leppings lane as well as the upper?. Seems bizarre that Wednesday fans were under United fans, hence also having to cordon off a third of the top tier.

Will they give you the whole away end at Bramall lane?

Another quick question why did the PA announcer repeatedly give out the same message to those in the South Stand about how to exit the ground? Must have made the same announcement 15 times!

It's due to the health and safety stuff, SAG (which I think I've seen mentioned on here) have reduced our capacity from 40k down to around 33k. I think we gave United the minimum amount of tickets the football league allows, there has been problems in the past when visiting supporters have been given the bottom tier. Another reason may be to do with the Police. Wednesday and United along with the Police probably agreed a set number of away tickets for both derbies. I expect us to get the exact same number of tickets at their place.

Normally when leaving the South stand it makes sense to head clockwise around the outside of the ground passing the away end on Leppings Lane. A barrier had been set up today to send the two sets of fans in opposite directions.

@Owl VisitingI feel your pain, I really do. If it's any consolation derby games can throw up some strange results can't they. I remember Everton usually the underdog beating Liverpool more often than not, same with Man City before their riches often turning over ManU etc. I know very little about the Sheffield team but always think of Wednesday bring bigger and more successful, so ultimately think you will be the ones with the bragging rites at the end of the season. So lick your painful wounds and play the long game, as that's really what it's all about.
