BCFC Rich
Thought we performed really well. I'm a big fan of Wright but he wasn't great today, looking forward to Pissano coming back. A bit harsh to critise as condering he is out of position he has been doing well - but he did get pulled out of position a few times. Fielding had another great game one fantastic save in the first half and I have to say (especially as someone who has critised him for it) distribution was great today including one or two amazing long passes into Fammy. COD had Knudsen in knots 1st half and was out main attacking outlet for most of it, this also seemed to get very Paterson more time on the ball when we did go left. Pats was great and he work ethic he has added to his game this season is seriously impressive. Also what an improvement with his delivery, crosses and in particular corners a few really drilled across rather than he usual floaty efforts. Fammy getting better with every game and Reed for me MOTM. A bit lucky with the goal but he really runs the show, drops back when we need him but keeps us ticking and sets the tempo for large periods of the game. I think it's easy to just focus on the goals And think that's the only improvement to his game but he pops up everywhere and pretty much always seems to pick the right pass or ball + knows when to keep it simple. 1 Quote Link to comment

Considering he's naturally biased towards Ipswich it seems a very reasonable evaluation of the game, giving City plenty of credit. 2 Quote Link to comment

I've never seen a City team with so much balance, so much talent, so much depth, so much pressing ability and with so much potential. COYRS You must be just a youngster as I remember the FA Cup Final team very well. We were very unfortunate to lose to the Ragamuffins of that little cotton town in Lancashire. Our Billy Wedlock was the best player on the pitch. Quote Link to comment

Can't yet bring myself to call his name in anything positive yet but he's slowly winning me over. We did go through the worst run in our history under him!!! 1 Quote Link to comment

Second half Ipwich were better , difficult not to be though. Bit of a threat , but we looked dangerous on the break and really could have had more. I really think that we will be even stronger when Pisano is back , but the options , all over the pitch are great now. When the subs come on they don't weaken the side at all, just a slightly different type of player. The choice of CB when Wright comes back from the break will be interesting, with EP fit and Flint and Baker playing well....... glad I'm not Johnson. FD starting to look the player we hoped he would be, Reid's stamina is amazing. Brownhill , Smith and Paterson looking very good ODowda needs to sort his end product and choices as a team we bare no resemblance to the side that played Fulham last year , the pressing is top class , long may it continue. If we go through our next 4 games WWDW I will start to believe..... BIG TIME. 1 Quote Link to comment
22A
OK, here's my views. A good team effort today with players running off the ball as well as supporting the man with the ball. Several instances though of players not looking up to see all their options before passing. Throughout the game City looked the better team. All three goals were well worked & taken. The players looked hungry for goals. For the first 40 minutes the Ref had a very good game getting all decisions, both those in City's favour and those in Town's, right. His performance dipped though at the end of the first half and both sets of fans booed him at stages in the 2nd half. Walking back to the station afterwards, one ITFC fan asked how much City had bribed the Ref. he also declared City only won because they hustled Ipswich out of it. Playing rough stuff is not Mick McCarthy's style and Ipswich would never do that. On the train home another Ipswich fan rounded on me and stated the Ref had a red shirt on. He also claimed at least one of City's goals was offside. In the second half an Ipswich player was ruled offside when a City man was clearly playing him onside. One other thing I noticed and confirmed by speaking with a Steward; no Police inside or outside the ground. The club's Stewards handle the crowds and do not incur an expensive Policing fee. Suffolk Constabulary are able to manage their assets better as a result, a win-win situation. Finally today was payback for me. In 1978 I was stationed at RAF Coltishall near Norwich. I went to White Hart Lane and saw City lose 1-0 to an own goal. The following day came a two week deployment abroad, so missed City 3- Soton 1 and of course Ipswich 0 - City 1. What a journey but well worth it - nice to see the players; coach pass us and be able to watch a bit of the Man City match through the window. Had a look through match thread to see how many we had - Would have guessed at nearly 1,000 from being there. Thought the support was excellent today. 1 Quote Link to comment

Smith and Brownhill were great but Smith’s lack of passing radar is really evident. For me Pack and Brownhill are the best pairing. 2 assists for Paterson, Diedhiou worked unbelievably hard and is becoming a nuisance for all defenders. Bobby Reid really is a little gem, could’ve had 2 today. His hold up play is genuinely outstanding for a little guy. He wins a lot of throwins and can maintain possession in tight areas. I watched a live stream and I fully agree with what you said. Smith is a little too slow on the ball when a quick release could put someone away. We were great today. Quote Link to comment
Garland-sweden
Well done again City. We had that very very bad run last season and we avoid relegation. This season is different, LJ knows how to play the team, the confidence is there. The players knows what to do. We gonna lose, yes, but Im not worried it will be like the bad run last season. Think last season was a wake up call, hello hello hello, what are you doing? That bad run was good for us. Now we can concentrade in training and games and not beeing afraid. The gone of Tomlin and Freeman has made that we can play another way of football. Tammy was wonderful, the way we play this season we have more goalscorers, even our midfilders are scoring. We have done better than I was hoping for, and then Im a real optimist, he he. Early days and 35 games left, so far so good. Always believe, COYR!!! 2 Quote Link to comment
22A
Three further thoughts on the game. 1; After scoring his goal, Bobby R didn't just celebrate with his team mates, but came running over to celebrate in front of us fans. 2; This year Cole Skuse didn't come over to acknowledge us after the game. Two seasons ago after the 2-23 draw he did. 3; Fans segregated inside the ground, but outside no Police and no segregation, we walked towards the station in one unified mass. 1 Quote Link to comment

What a quality celebration it was. He put the bloke in the disabled section's hat on if I saw correctly. One of the Ipswich fans seemed to get majorly arsey about it, which made it even funnier. Ipswich fans I spoke to were great before and after the game. Quote Link to comment
