WhistleHappy Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 2-1 up against Chelsea.... at mo. (ominously for us and the upcoming cup game... was hoping it would take a while longer before Hodgson got 'em back on track.. they could be buzzing when they come uo against us now) Oh well still think 'on our day' City are a match for anyone.
The_Don Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Doesn’t make the cup tie any more difficult than it was already. I was surprised at how many of the lads I go to city with think we will stroll this one, better players than stoke regardless of their poor start.
wendyredredrobin Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Yeah, ive been following this game too and equally concerned that Woy was improving Palace. To think that we had him here at the gate all those years ago.
Guest Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 They’ll still rest a lot of players. That game with WHU 4 days later is massive
Judda Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 I don't think they'll be interested in the cup...
JoeAman08 Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 I look at it differently. Them improving makes playing us less important as it doesn't need to be a springboard to start their season. I would mind them picking up points before they play us at all. Let's them strengthen the focus on the league

pongo88 Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 I like it! The last thing we need is team on a bad run who will come to Ashton Gate and try to play a defensive game - e g Burton. If they have a bit of confidence it will be an open game which suits City’s style of play. Let’s hope they win 5-0 next Saturday
Guest Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 And I thought that 'swallows and summers' was a common retort on here
Loco Rojo Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Mark Zaha out of the game and they're fooked!
Top Robin Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 Roy hasn't got a great history in cup competitions and that's with the best England has to offer!

1960maaan Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 I don't think they will risk some of their main players, there will be changes but I don't think it will make it any easier. We will make changes so it will be a tough interesting game, like Watford and Stoke

It was his first game back yesterday and he admitted on Sky that he felt it afterwards. could go one of two ways I guess, either they rest him or want to give him another game to get up to speed. I hope it`s the former as he made the difference yesterday by all accounts - a confidence thing for them as much as anything I think.

That was the main one I was thinking about, would be a massive blow if he played against us and broke down again, bench at best I'd say. They'll still have a decent side out , as did Stoke.

We don`t have a reputation for kicking players though so Roy may think it`s worth the risk of him starting, he`s a canny old bugger and may think him starting is the best way of winning the match. I think if he plays the full 90 next Saturday at Newcastle (?) that will tell us a lot. He is such a talisman for them though - they said on Sky yesterday that the atmosphere was noticeably more upbeat once the fans heard he was playing.
OldlandReddies Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Woy will west all his decent pwayes. Think Lee will do the same with more important games at the weekend for both. So it will still be an interesting game and no gimee for us.
