Mcindoe on Sound of the City tonight

I suspect he is doing it from a phone line to another country. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want to be in the studio, where he could end up fronted by a few people, including our manager who has 48,000 reasons to despise him.

Ouch that's a lot of money - even back in 2007/2008 or whenever that would've been. I can't imagine Johnson was on that much per week when he was here.

That's been the first time I have heard that said so directly.  The reports say a championship manager, like it's withheld information.

LJ is not a Championship manager though .

Poor journalism or , perhaps, somebody else ?

I'd also be interested in this. Thoroughly a good guy on the field and wanted to play at his best, if his ego hadn't lost to Gary's then he may have been here a lot longer, which would have made his scheme all the more a horrifying reveal.

Whatever was the case for McIndoe leaving, I’m sure that if he hadn’t gone GJ would of kept his job longer. That season after he left we were so narrow and unimaginative, relying on Nicky Maynard to score worldies to win us games. McIndoe was a massive part of us having two very good championship seasons before he left.

I hope he brings a few bottles of his snake oil with him- apparently it cures every known disease in existence! All for the low, low price of £48000 and your first born son. Don't forget to tell your friends- especially the rich, gullible ones!

And then the skiing holiday happened, and the rest is brutal history.

The very reason Nicky would have not to buy in - he'd have to drive to Bristol to pick him up.

Lee Johnson lost £48,000 and was part of the bankruptcy petition which is available publicly if anyone wishes to download it.

Two players from our former squad also lost money but not my place to say who and what as that info is not in the public domain.

McIndoe started his scheme whilst he was at Coventry, him and Lee were good pals. His scheme was nothing to do with him leaving City.

I don't see why LJ would have been involved, he was making a lot through property renovation and selling on for good profit. He was buying properties for higher hundreds of thousands with us and selling for over a million.

Greed mainly. Isn't that Why they all bought into it ?

Because he's obviously got a business instinct. Considering he was friends with McIndoe I'd say it's pretty likely.

He's a grade 1 liar.

I can't say much, but I 100% know he has lied. One of the people who he says never had a penny off, definitely did as it's someone I know, he is also one of the few who has worked with the police.

The CPS are actually going over the files at present, a decision to charge or not, has not been reached yet.

He's spouting absolute nonsense. I'm sure a few of his so called "investors" will be fascinated by his claims today.

He does sound like he's lying - incredibly stressed and intense.

I like how he mentions Lee as a mate.

I would love to see him pop to the gate for an interview and see just how pally Lee is to him.

Well he laid down the gauntlet didn’t he. ‘I’ll never shy away from meeting anyone who wants to in person’

Maybe Lee should take him up on that.. perhaps he should bring Aden, Nathan Baker, Famara and Jamie Mac with him too!

They need a keeper as well if they want a 5 a side team.

If he truly had nothing to hide, he would have gone to the studio to meet Geoff and do the interview live. Not by a phone link earlier in the afternoon.

I suspect he is still living out in Spain. Hiding from those who would like to meet him and I know there are a few.

I like how he said his family still support him, the same family that he reportedly sold their houses behind their backs. (On the bankruptcy report) . If his family were so supportive why not live in Scotland, instead of Spain?

Wants to get back into football, I think we all know, no club would touch him with a barge-pole.

It's okay saying he'll happily meet people, but no one knows his address or phone number, sort of makes that difficult!

I was referring to Maynard's injury and complete fall-off in form :)

Interesting people are assuming it is LJ that is the current Manager that was affected, I always believed it was someone who was at Wolves and now looks after some tractors

Technically @phantomLJ isn't a manager though...

A lot that has been posted recently on the subject would also suggest the same person.

What would be funny though is if the police were sat in the studio tracing the call whilst he was trying to shift the blame onto Mr G....

Michael McIndoe was in the studio with Geoff. It was pre-recorded in the afternoon. The date and time are visible on the screen here: DMRZQfTWAAA6R7P.jpg

Still not convinced this isn't his second attempt at this;

Buy the book, enjoy it. Before you know it you're buying 3 books, getting money back for 4, buying 2 more books for friends....

Greedy footballers get done over in another shit scam shocker..!

no sympathy for any of these schemes man. Making top dollar playing football yet still want more.. fair enough investing in property or what not but to trust somebody like Mcindoe with thousands you have got to be a bit simple IMO.

Fair enough, read something yesterday saying it was a phone interview. Just proves you can't believe everything you read on here doesn't it

I think it was stated above that it was detailed in the bankruptcy petition. Would be interesting to see the files if available..

I couldn't find the petition but I did find a couple of entries in the London Gazette.

Not a bad address in Knightsbridge: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/detailMatching.html/svr/3110;jsessionid=73713BC9849A540A22C47DCA18E71743?prop=42246296&sale=79303611&country=england

Assumedly none of this was brought up on the radio programme?

He got in early and rubbished all the newspaper articles, of which he said there were 100 of, as they didn't quote a source.

He also said he had never smoked but there's photos of him with a fat Cuban in his hands in a lot of the articles.

The guy is an outright lier and he talks as though he's drilled himself to believe he has done no wrong.

He is deluded. He said he wanted to get back into football as a player or manager and that he keeps himself fit and in shape. His main worry is "is it to late to win some major trophies" when asked if he though he was hireable he said he had not been charged with anything, and convicted criminals have got back into the game, so why shouldn't he ! Would you trust him with your clubs purse strings or tfr dealings ?

Compared to a lot of work it's highly paid though isn't it and I guess he sees it as easy money as he's always found a team to take him. Not sure he will be welcomed with open arms by anyone now though, not at the pay level he is hoping for anyway.

I do think though regular employment would make himself a sitting target for those he owes money to, I don't think he would be that stupid to leave himself that vulnerable

No it wouldn't - not if he was made bankrupt. The whole point of that is to wipe the slate clean.

I meant to people who would take the law into their own hands, or have someone do it for them. They wouldn't care if he had a clean slate or not, I'm surprised no one has got to him before.

If they were going for physical revenge, I don't see that him suddenly earning a living would make much difference?

I was thinking that his movements would be more predictable, they would know where to find him. Not so easy to hide when your team has a fixture, training etc is it?

A lot of folks seem keen to hang the guy and brand him a liar without knowing the full facts.

Worth remembering that there were plenty of fools eager to part with their money because of greed.

This is true.

What doesn't help his public persona is he was trying to make money from a nightclub venture.

To most that doesn't come across as trying to make an honest living.
