A constant wind would be easier to adapt to - e g if it was a constant 50 mph wind, the players playing against it would be able to lean forward at a constant angle (15 degrees?) to compensate. With variable winds players would have to continually vary the angle of the lean. Also, taller players will have greater difficulty adapting to variable winds as they have greater wind resistance compared to shorter players. When it’s gusting, they will be forced backwards more than when the wind is lower. The solution is to drop any player taller than 5’ 10” for this match and replace them with shorter players. I see what you're saying, but wind varies all the time, it doesnt matter if its a constant 5mph, 50mph or 500mph winds, you'll still get gusts of wind that will be higher than this. Take Hurricane Ophelia for example, when it was in the Azores, it got upgraded to a category 3 with wind speeds measuring 115mph, but the gusts were still much higher. Just check you’re not on fire first, with this wind you’d go up like a Roman Candle, or the flames could be blown out. Better safe than sorry though. Fiale
I think I am ok, stepping out now. This could be the fastest journey ever with the wind on back.
