Steele 5 - No chance with the goal, but a few dodgy punches from crosses did not inspire confidence.

Smith 6 - Competent but totally wasted at RB, massively missed his influence in central midfield.

Flint 6 - Defended well enough, too many hoofed balls forward though.

Wright 4 - Gave away lots of silly fouls, always passed backwards when given the ball.

Bryan 3 - Worst performance from Joe this season, hampered by early (deserved) yellow card, poor crosses, and woeful non-challenge on Ameobi in the build up to their goal.

Pato - 3 - Just did not get into the game at all, like v. Norwich looks a passenger being asked to play left midfield instead of no.10 role.

Brownhill - 5 - Tried, but lost control of the ball too often, no substitute for Smith in CM.

Pack - 3 - Had a mare, slowed the game right down, when he got over halfway line either passed backwards or lost the ball.

Kent - 6 - Tried hard, looked the most likely to make something happen for us, tired in last 20 mins though.

Reid - 6 - Chased and chased, should have had a pen after 15 mins.

Fammy - 5 - Some good hold up play, but generally looked clumsy and slow tonight. One decent header on goal.

SUBS:

Mags, Diony and Engval, none of them saw enough of the ball to rate.

Having watched every league game this season, that was easily worst performance of the season since Brentford away. Korey Smith MUST start in CM in next game.

Steele 6 didn't do a lot wrong other than drop the ball under pressure from Diedhiou.

Smith 7 Covered well at Full Back usual Mr Reliable

Flint 5 played for himself

Wright 5 A little all over the place

Bryan 5 Early booking stopped him affecting the game

Paterson 4 Woefully off form

Pack 7 Man of the match for us got it under control.

Brownhill 6 but right winger he aint

Kent 7 first half 3 second half another one who played for himself

Diedhiou 5 Strangely subdued after a great display last week

Reid 5 I love Bobby but he has lost a spark and should have been subbed instead of shoehorning too many attackers on the pitch

Dioni 4 sadly didn't get involved at all

Maggers 5

Engvall 5

Team 3 crap crap teamwork

Bryan's early booking didn't contribute to his poor distribution

Tough one tonight.

Very few positives....and even within those, there were some negatives.

The +’s:

- Smith, our best player tonight.  The negative - he was played out of position

- Kent, did well on the ball in their half.  The negative - weak with and without the ball either under pressure or tackling

That’s about it.

There are a couple of players who didn’t really do anything + or -.

The negatives, too many to list.

Frustrating night, from watching it on Sky.

Might be one of those that you watch back in full and find some more +’s.

Steele 6 ... bit flappy

Smith 7 ... an engine

Flint 7 ... colossus

Wright 6 .... sound

Bryan 3 ... night to forget

Pato 3 ... that illness has ****ed him up proper

Brownhill 4 ... busy achieving little

Pack 5 .... ok

Kent 4 .. didn’t hurt them

Reid 6 ... no real threat

Fammy 5 ... bossed

Subs

Maggers 6 ... ok’ish

Diony 4 ... nil impact

Engvall 5... more threat in 2 minutes than others

Match Analysis. Weak in mind and body, with the notable team exception of a Flinty (as ever). You ain’t just going to turn up playing pretty football and be gifted the points lads.

We go again.

Good marks, very much as I saw it.

I thought Engvall’s winning of the free kick, albeit a very small detail, was encouraging. Did well to create that angle.

He looked like he wanted to be physical in the 5 minutes or so he was on.  That’s a good sign.

This is the nearest to how I saw it though I would of given Bryan, Pack & Diedhiou 1 mark less each, Bryan & Diedhiou were particularly awful last night

If Kent can play RB then he needs to play there, as Smith needs to be played in his best position and partnered with Brownhill.

As soon as Smith was moved we defo looked more likely to score.

Not sure about Kent at right back bud, he looks weak in the tackle and likes to take a player on. Not sure I would want him that far back

Bit controversial maybe, but no ratings for support, ie us!

Last night - 3. Not for one minute knocking those who went, but there weren't many. What a difference might it have made last night if we'd had half the following we had at the Etihad.

I'm just looking at all the threads and all the blame on just about every individual player - and wondering how many of those handing that out actually went. It's true that there was a lack of our usual effort on the pitch last night - but also off it - too many happy to stay home and watch it on TV?

Tin hat on...!
