GrahamC
“City are expecting their largest ever crowd for an opening day game at Ashton Gate”. Don’t they do any research at all? I know McGregor has only be covering us for about a year and clearly he knows absolutely nothing about the history of the club, but ten seconds research tells you this is wrong. 1976 and 1977 were higher crowds, let alone the post war boom with huge attendances. Absolute joke.
AshtonPark
It’s taken from the clubs website isn’t it, what he meant is “biggest opening day since the rebuild”. It is click bait though.

Ska Junkie
The article is taken from BCFC.co.uk. On the OS is does state 'biggest opening crowd since the rebuild' so it's just crap journalism from the post, again.

steveybadger
The City website also referred to the u23sbeating the 'Gloucester robins' in the Glos cup. which is fine if you aren't from Gloucester and like to be called the nickname of your hated local rivals Chel*****m! Absolute joke. The Post and its predecessor have always been low on journalistic quality so it's no surprise that basic research doesn't happen but as Ashton Park says he probably meant since the rebuild..... Ive given up reacting to their frequent errors.

To be fair to our hard-drinking, SOD-admiring friend, even the best can get it wrong in the rumour mill of football, when you rely on the deliberately misleading tips of agents and club officials. One of the things I used to do for BBC Sport was compile a roundup of Fleet Street (and the larger regional papers) transfer tips. I once worked out that they were, on average, 20% correct. And they didn't even feature Kachina's "insights"!!

Ive given up reacting to their frequent errors. I wish I could give up reacting - but their rubbish inaccuracies still wind me up! I know I shouldn’t let this happen! Like recently they mentioned the 3-1 victory at home to Coventry towards the end of the 2011/2012 season when Stead, Wood and Bolasie scored....the article said ‘but it wasn’t enough to keep the Robins up and they were relegated along with Doncaster Rovers and Portsmouth’ .....ummm, no we weren’t, Coventry went down with those two clubs, not us....how lazy is that journalism?! Arrgghh! Nurse, pass me the merlot.....
