Super
Did this happen at all games yesterday? Instructed by the FA?
Taz
Not sure but I thought it completely killed the game off in the first half. We didn't really show up again until midway through the second half.
Olé
It happens at World Cups and European Championships when the temperate or humidity at pitch level is over a certain level, so perhaps it's a FIFA directive that we've just never had cause to see at AG before? Although it wasn't on the midway point of the half, but after half an hour, but perhaps the ref has discretion. As @Taz said, it changed the game, not simply totally slowing it down, but I think Karanka used the opportunity to make some much needed adjustments. Prior to that I thought their three highly touted Portuguese attacking midfielders were largely anonymous - Gil Dias looked the most likely to be dangerous but I think just before the drinks break had to switch wings because he was getting so little joy on the right. I read it as the impact of one of our CMs dropping in with the CBs and our full backs pushing up to receive the ball, which forced the three Portuguese deeper in midfield when they wanted to be supporting their forward.
