Instead of watching Leeds v boro on Sky last night, i watched the England women on BBC2.

Well done to the England ladies football team. Last night they qualified for the fourth consecutive time fr the World Cup Finals. Any chance please of the men's team catching up?

Didn’t we just get to the Semi finals?

The men have qualified for the last 6 consecutive finals, maybe the women need to catch up?

Really enjoyed this game with the partisan Welsh crowd trying to intimidate the  England players and the Welsh players giving 100 percent commitment diving into tackles and raising there game.

Unfortunately for them the quality of the English game was more than good enough for a 3-0 win even with a perfectly good goal ruled out for off side in the first half.

It was a winner takes all game and I was very impressed with the way our players handled the pressure and we have now qualifed for the next world cup with a match to spare.

For a start they need to catch up with the men who have qualified for six on the trot. Secondly it is in no way comparable is it.

5,000 people watching and plenty of room for more to attend if they wanted to ...

That said, fair play to them.

5k there and still got top billing on BBC website, above the cricket, Championship game with 30k plus, Rugby game with 25k plus.

Why?

Because the BBC would very much like you to watch and care about the only football it can afford to show. Helps to justify some jobs.

This...dreadful standard and gets far too much air time

How does air time affect you?  You desperate for another Eastenders or something?

Quality will improve as revenues grow, no problems with that.  It’s still football.  11 women in the England Team running around the pitch or 11 men, what’s the difference?

It’s a dreadful watch...fine if you like it but the quality is not good. The goalkeepers are funny though they are comical

The difference is almost nobody is interested in watching women's football, and that won't change however much over emphasis is put on it by the media, and particularly the BBC.

It won’t change middle aged men’s minds but maybe young daughters or grandchildren of those men might aspire to play etc due to the coverage.

I just don’t see it as a bad thing?  It’s not like we only have one channel anymore is it?

Your point of nobody is exaggeration. Viewing figures, attendances and participation levels are increasing.

Would you prefer it if women's sport was given no coverage?
