Appears there was a fairly extensive snowball fight between the two groups at Parson Street Station

Absolutely kicking off big time but fair play I saw 8 year olds throwing snow bags at least half there body weight

i think we could find the next worlds strongest man on the platform of parsons street

@JulieH speaking as someone who was at the game with an 8 year old, I think we all deserve an explanation as to why the away supporters were permitted to leave the ground at the same time as home supporters, particularly in light of the trouble that occurred during the match.

Most of us don’t go to the game for any other reason than to actually watch the game, especially those of us with children. To get caught up in the disorder as we left the designated family area at the end of the game strikes me as both an entirely unacceptable and completely avoidable scenario.

I don’t blame the police for the neanderthal behaviour of some “fans”, but I do expect them to make common sense decisions to protect the rest of us.

Completely agree. I took my 8+5 year old as per normal and my wife came today which doesn't happen often... and after today she won't be going again soon or isn't happy about the kids going.

Obviously the kids will still go but I thought it only sensible and safe to leave the family section on 87 minutes as I knew the Swansea fans were being let out with us and going home our way.

This was a good decision as when in car and on way home we witnessed fighting in the park.

Explanation please @JulieH as to why the Swansea fans were not kept back.

Sounds like they’ve  learnt nothing from the Charlton FA cup game 25 years ago this month!

They were seconds away from it going completely explosive and serious

No police Officer in sight and initially a few  stewards showed some real balls, (fair play) to keep the two groups apart

Some City had already skirted the stewards via the pitch and were trading blows with Swansea fans , as the first police office appeared

Another 10-20 seconds and I’d say there would have been serious disorder

Makes a mockery of the fact the police have a riot squad stood infront of Section 82 corner whenever there’s a big game.

If they station themselves infront of the away end the incident with fighting Inside the ground doesn’t happen.

Always baffled me that, and always made me feel like I was a criminal for standing up and watching a football match, being eyeballed for 90 minutes by police and stewards.

Maybe the police will have learnt a basic lesson - if there is likely to be trouble inside the ground, it’s likely to be near the segregated area, not at the opposite corner.

Reminds me a bit of how in the 1980s there often used to be a few police horses at the bottom of the Dolman wall near the open end for games against the likes of Chesterfield and Port Vale - but they were nowhere to be seen for more high profile games when there was a larger away following.

Maybe that’s what they want - so they can enforce the bubble again

This is so right ...it was literally 15 seconds away from serious trouble and teams being dragged off pitch.

Ok bud, was this the group escorted?

Seems the OB knew that this large group were trouble yet they were left to their own devices when in the ground and after the game, joke.

I'm talking about the mass entry to the Atyeo when the game was well underway - far more than 100.

No idea if they were escorted, but they all had their tickets checked apparently, despite the swiftness of their collective entry, and the bulging Atyeo which shouldn't have been anywhere near full despite the extra allocation.

Afterwards a large group of Swansea fans made it into the park, so if they were being escorted it was a very odd place to take them.

No it’s not kicking off.

some small groups of Swansea fans drinking in bedminster , but moved on by police. No disorder .

I'm going to take my Bristol City fan hat off here and ask why they were moved on if there was no disorder? As a football fan that worries be greatly that police are abusing their powers. If I was at an away game and was enjoying a drink after the game and got told to move on I'd be rightly pissed off!

Hmm perhaps I spoke too soon

policing operation still ongoing  following disorder post match in the park between Swansea and city fans .

Real shame after all the planning and positive comments to get this game as normal as possible.

Cctv and other footage will be reviewed

Maybe in future the club should stick to their "policy" of only allowing two and a half grand in the away section. Anyone with half a brain knew what was going to happen , especially at such an emotive match!

But why was it so emotive? I understand that we are close in the league but in recent times it's always been pretty friendly with Swansea?

Maybe it was because for both of us, right now this is as close as it gets to a derby?

England v Wales, first time they've come to Bristol in a while, Being a Prem team for so long probably didn't have a chance for 3.5k tickets and "just up the road" too .

I heard that there was quite a bit of trouble in the reverse fixture in August. Apparently city fans smashed some pubs/ shops in on one of the streets nearby.

This may not be true but that's what I was told

I really don’t get the ‘don’t give them the tickets ‘ bollocks. This is football not oh sssh the oppositions taking a kick like rugby . IM NOT CONDONING TROUBLE just put that in capitals so someone doesn’t misquote me. Football is tribal , territorial . We haven’t played them for years and a bit of edge is great for the game .

People moan about a lack of atmosphere in modern football and the reason is it’s sanitised. We can’t sing this or that because we might offend  someone ffs .

Oh no we called them sheep shaggers I’m offended on their behalf .

To sum it up , someone swore near me in the second half. The bloke sat next to me shouted . OH no someone swore what’s the complaint number  (jokingly )  A voice behind said 2 ******* 7 ******* 3 ****** 4

Wouldn't surprise me. Give the morons on both sides enough rope to hang themselves and allow the police to justify whatever restrictions they want to put in place.

the morons are the ones who increased the away allocation so that coked up day trippers could come for a jolly.

Police are culpable clueless as usual.

@JulieH instead of giving running reports on here..... why don't you concentrate on policing the trouble?

A joke and a snake. No totally blaming A&SP but policing nowadays is about letting trouble happen and film viz Millwall last week.

Anyone with half a brain could see that the potential for trouble at this game was high, almost nailed on, given the away allocation. And quelle surprise, it's happened.

Police intelligence? They don't have any. Letting such a large away following out at the same time as the home fans? Completely stupid. What happened to holding the away fans like yesteryear? Like i say, police intelligence - yeah right.

What nonsense. In both the Millwall incident last week and today’s police were evidently trying to stop it.

In both cases it could be argued that they could or should have gotten there sooner but to say they’re just letting trouble happen is crap.
