Mr Mosquito
Here's to hoping that the Bar Bars crush the 'mighty' Wales and their inflated egos into the Ashton Gate mud. :Party27:
Cider_Army
This is quite a coup for Bristol City and Bristol as a city. To hold an international rugby match. Bet it'll be expensive mind.
Mr Mosquito
If the match is shown on TV I don't want to be mistaken for a Wales supporter on TV. This means I wont be wearing my first team BCFC shirt but a blue and white Bristol Shoguns shirt. I hope the long wait for alcoholic drinks and bogs will be sorted for this game and we don't get the problems as at the Bristol v Bath game. Cider_Army
How about wearing an England shirt to the match and some banners saying that the quarter finals aren't too bad for a second rate rugby playing nation like their good selves! GUERNSEY TAFFY RED
Here's to hoping that the Bar Bars crush the 'mighty' Wales and their inflated egos into the Ashton Gate mud. :Party27: Red Goblin, wait til the six nations mate. Fair do's England deserved their world cup win, but beware boyo - the Welsh Dragon has arisen from the ashes to breathe fire once more!!!!!!! I will be there, see you in the Rising Sun. RedM
Sorry to ask a stupied question, but only having recently discovered Rugby, who are the Barbarians? I know I could search in Google but I'm sure I'd get a quicker answer, and one I would understand from someone on here. I haven't got time right now to read through loads of Rugby pages! Thanks! :sport18:
Mr Mosquito
Reply to RedM and Guernsey Taffy RedM, the Barbarians are elite rugby union players chosen by invitation only to play in the famous black and white strip. It's a great honour for us for Ashton Gate to be chosen for such a prestigous game. Click on the URL below to find out more. Guernsey Taffy, see you in the Riser then I think Wales are more likely to be run ragged than crushed in the mud. It all depends on who is invited to play for the Bar Bars - could be the bulk of the England side!!!! http://www.barbarianfc.co.uk/
Robbored
Who wants to see Wales?? and haven't the Taffs already got a decent stadium? If you want to see real and proper rugby then you'll have to get tickets to see the World Champions - ENGLAND!!!
RedM
Red Goblin: Thanks for that. It really is a BIG game. I'd love to go. I had heard of the Barbarians but had no idea of their set up, that they are made up from players of lots of other clubs. I just thought it was a nickname for a national side. It's good to see The Gate being used for other things and putting Bristol on the sporting map. I wonder if football will ever have such a thing. I expect it will be too difficult for player/club/manager and agent to agree? :sport18:

Guest Dolman Moaner
I bet those taffy egg chasers are livid. They have to come to Ashton Gate to watch their beloved boyos, because the Millenium Stadium is being used to stage the FA Cup Final and the Play Offs. :how funny: :Party27:
Mr Mosquito
Reply to Dolman Moaner Considering most Barbarian games since WWII have been staged in Cardiff I bet they are livid
