Surprising how people’s opinions can change in a short space of time. According to some on here a month ago he was a waste of space!

Personally I quite like him and thought his performance on Tuesday was that of a quality striker.

Is it actually that surprising though?

Looking at the Aston Villa game now, do you feel more confident than you did before we won at Sheff U and Middlesbrough?

Form is everything in football, and people tend to remember the last game, and a few before it when forming opinions. It's fickle, we all know that.

Fam's had a great couple of performances, but before that he wasn't playing so well. If he does all the hard work holding the ball up, and easing pressure on the team but misses some chances and we lose, then he'll be the villain. If he did the same thing but we won the game, the misses are forgotten.

Apart from putting the ball in the net, the rest of his game is right up there

Back to Michelle, whatever she says I take as gospel, she could sell me a bag of air !

Spot on apart from he has played well for over 3 months now it’s just when results were not going for us he was a easy target for clueless prats who think a 5 million pound player should have a Messi touch or a ronaldo scoring record

He hasn’t played well for 3 months at all , that’s total rubbish. His hold up/ link up play was poor at best and he got bullied by centre halves. However since the last international break he’s been superb and deserves the praise he’s getting .

People see games differently and he has played well the last 3 months,if you are seriously telling me he has been dogshite until the last 3 weeks then you are wrong

didn't score though did he, contributed to the win no doubt, but scoring 3 you would expect him to have maybe scored at least 1. Also hasn't scored in the last 6 games a bit like our form this season his goal scoring record is very patchy and still hasn't scored a single goal from any shot outside the area, a flaw in his overall game, he can be a good striker on his day but a quality one is slightly pushing it in my opinion, can't help feeling with someone billy Sharpe up front we would already be in the playoffs if not more.

Got my vote for player of the season.........due to his unselfish and consistent performances. Since his politically absurd suspension, he hasn't missed a game and has always given 100 per cent to the cause. Josh Brownhill got my young player vote.

We won and scored 3 but you’re not satisfied because he didn’t score? What type of comment is that? At times he had people stood up out of their seats with his play! Best performance by him in a long time and it’s great to see him improving just at the right time . At Sheffield Utd who hardly concede, he had a hand in all 3 goals!

As for Billy Share being better suited to us?

Have you noticed that since  the international break he’s had someone playing along side him up front? Perhaps that might have something to do with it!

Where did I say he was dog shit. However if you think he was quality then you literally know nothing about the game. For most of the season his link/hold up play has been poor. So before  you tell people they’re  wrong or call people clueless prats , educate yourself a little on strikers playing with their back to goal.

As I have said previously . I’ll always support fam as long as he wears a city shirt and since the break he’s been like a different player, very good .

Not scoring long range goals is a flaw? Don’t see Tammy banging in 30 yard screamers every week do you?

Since the break he’s had another striker playing closer to him so is not the only focal point for two bullying centre halves.

Before the break , on his own , even when he got the ball  , it wasn’t easy to hold it up long enough for the rest of the team to join him and with those aforementioned defenders kicking lumps out of him .

FD is not perfect but always gives a  hundred percent in a largely thankless task as an only spearhead in our attack .

This he has done throughout the season , week in , week out . with no respite .

I will also add that he has had to change his game from the one he played in France and has taken on the challenge successfully without moaning or throwing his toys out of the pram.

He got my vote for POTY over Webster because of this.

I also believe that we haven’t seen the best of Diedhiou.

Finally , every team we face comments on how awkward the lad is to play against so he’s doing something right .

And they had cause too... FD is a total confidence player and unfortunately if your the main striker that cost 5 million pound your exspected to do the basics well and for most of last season and this he hasn't but certainly from the Sheffield United game onwards something has changed because his work rate and touch has improved no end but still the worrying aspect is he has now gone 8games with not scoring so I'm hoping he's saving his best till last starting today at Villa.

Just my opinion, but just imagine if they both could now what players they would be, and he has only scored 11 goals this season a bit disappointing, not saying he does not contribute to our overall performance just wish it was him sticking the ball in the net a little more often, and an overall striker would score goals from outside the box, so yes it is a flaw in his game.

Is anyone else madly in love with Michelle Owen, or is it just me?  I've even confessed to my wife, and she always gets a bit of a grump when I'm staring fondly at Michelle on Sky Sports News!

Perhaps someone can ask her via Twitter to join OTIB, I'm sure she would enjoy it here!

He's done a decent job but he's a bang average striker infront of goal and certainly an area that needs investment. Personally this summer will be massive as we will lose 1 or 2 and Kalas / JDS will be departing and both keepers. We need a big clear out as we have many players who simply aren't good enough MK for one.

Saved me a lot of typing.

FWIW, Fam has had a mixed season.  He came back from suspension looking good, playing predominantly with a partner (Taylor or Weimann).  We then went 4141 and his form started to drop off.  Preston was a rare occasion where I thought he didn’t put a shift in - the whole team similarly it looked.  Johnson said he had a word with a couple of players (Fam and Pato I believe) and we then saw better performances from Fam from Ipswich onwards, especially away from home.  At home, we were not really a cohesive unit, even in the unbeaten run.  These fans who’ve been away will probably be more glowing than those who’ve only seen home games.  Wind forward to the international break, and Fam has a strike partner...and we’ve seen two excellent performances (Boro and Brom), where he’s showed us what he’s capable of.

I’ve said all along, he is not a target man, he is a big bloke, can win the ball in the air (if he has someone to flick it to), but back-To-Goal is not his forte.  He’s had tomplay like that for the team.  Sometimes his touch is poor, sometimes it’s sublime.

Not my POTY, but and important team member for the way LJ wants us to play.

No, and it’s embarrassing how loads of 40+ blokes are always on her tweets. Like flies around shit.

I stand by my statement that he's too hit and miss, consistency is a must in this league and whilst he has some incredible performances he's also known to just go missing entirely or lose his composure.

If I was Villa today I'd man mark him, give him no time on the ball at all and close down the centre midfielders. We may have good wide men but how many goals can you remember coming from crosses in open play? If I were Villa I'd look to close down the middle.

Imagine my disappointment when realising I misread the thread title. Thinking it was "Michelle Owen takes on our strikers", I thought it was a new sports related series on Pornhub where the lovely Michelle has a 3some with Fammy and Andi.

I was expecting the next instalment perhaps to be "Ronnie O'Sullivan pots the brown and then the pink with Hazel Irvine".

Considering how much players cost these days does anyone think we could easily replace Fam for what he cost us? The simple answer is no.

He has been inspired since the international break, especially as he has been much less isolated up front. Playing the lone striker in our 4-1-4-1 formation must have been a really frustrating experience, yet he kept plugging away despite usually being constantly fouled by opposition centre halves. It is not his natural game but he has always kept trying even when his first touch has been less good.

I know that some will laugh at this next suggestion but in some ways he is our Flint replacement. At defensive corners, he just concentrates on getting his head to the ball, and most times he does. Plus he is passionate and want to get the crowd going. Who was giving it big to Section 82 and the South Stand to sing up with 10 minutes to go in Tuesday? Fam of course!

He is not Pukki or Sharp but a lot of other clubs in the Championship would  be interested in taking him now at the price we paid.
