22A
THE EFL have announced the transfer window for Championship clubs will be August 8th. For leagues 1 and 2 it's the end of August. Presumably the poorer clubs need the extra three weeks to gather enough cash together? Or is it a way of getting Championship teams to rush out and buy whoever they can regardless of cost? It's more likely that it allows lower league sides the chance to see what players are available once Championship squads are completed

Not sure if the loan window will be the same date though, this season it was end of Aug. Quite a few clubs did the “loan with a future transfer agreed” type deal.
