Cor blimey!

There has been progress despite not having a 20 goal striker and that isn’t lost on anyone even remotely interested in City and definitely not lost on LJ. However, he was reluctant/unable to recruit a striker in the winter window because of the inflated fees selling clubs demand. We all know that the time for ‘trading’ is in the summer window and LJ now has leverage to strengthen. He’s already said that he’s looking to sign 7 players - one if not two should be strikers.......

Im going over old ground here but the lack of creativity in midfield has been obvious to anyone who watches City. Pack is a DM and that leaves Brownhill as the only other regular midfielder. Walsh, Palmer and Morrell have all played there but none have really impressed. Palmer is probably the best  of those but it’s unlikely he’ll be at AG next season so a creative midfielder must be on the summer list.

Whats been solid this season is the defence. Webdini and Kalas particularly so but Kalas is unlikely to be at AG next season so possibly Kelly could end up playing there. Dasliva has also been excellent and City have the option to sign him if he wants to stay at AG.

RB has been meh....Hunt has been frequently  injured, Pisano looks as if he’s off to Oz and Wright isn’t a natural full back. I’d hope another RB is also on the summer list.

Depends on two Ps. Patience and progress.

You and I can be too patient. We’ve not got long left. Me perhaps slightly more than you ? but I want to see it in my lifetime.

Progress. Hmmm I don’t buy this incremental gain bollocks. Inch by inch isn’t how I measure it.

I’ll chuck in a third P. Potential. We hear so much about Steve and the potential we’ve got with a world class stadium. Yet we have to make do with poor quality, inconsistent football.

Bit like having a Ferrari red F1 on the drive. With a Fiat engine in it......

Let’s see how Steve Jon and Jnr back the football club over the summer months.......

So you think City should buy their way to the PL? If so that goes completely against SLs strategy.

That said, I can see this summer being the window when the money will be forthcoming - it’s been a decent enough season with interest right until the last match and LJ has done a very decent job.

The players on the summer shopping list will have been identified months ago by LJ and any new signings will have  been overseen by him and should fit in well to Citys identity ( whatever that is ) LJ isn’t the type of manager to sign any player on reputation only and the much maligned ‘DNA’ really does apply.

I really think next season City will be serious contenders - depending on the ‘trading’ over this summer of course.

If we keep the same defence and upgrade CM and a proper striker then I agree with you.

Not quite good enough this time around.

Still in the top six race until the last game and eventually ending with an 8th place and an improvement in Championship finish and points tally from last season plus most away wins in over a century so not a bad season over all.

LJ will know that the home results really cost us. The four dropped points against Ipswich and Wigan would have put us safely in the top six but hey ho...........no point crying over spilled milk.

The loss against FLDC really did cost us.............

Yes, victory against Derby and we would now be in the playoffs.

Nope. Not buy their way. Spend or invest wisely. And on what counts. Decent players. Here’s my wish list of off loads.

Fammy - needs to either be replaced or adequately supported. This season has proved he isn’t good enough.

Pack, Paterson and Eliasson - simply not consistently good enough.

Pisano, Hunt and Wright - simply poor.

I’d like to see De Silva, Palmer and Kalas stay and sign permanently. Get cover for Nikki and O’Leary. An attacking midfielder or two - not bloody wingers who turn it on some weeks but not others. You know the sort. Nasty bastards ?.

And a forward or two who can control the ball with a first touch. Move it on to their better foot. And score. Let’s face it the enigma that is the man from Senegal isn’t that man....

At Millwall and with the danger of the ball getting caught under his feet he pokes it home. At Hull he most certainly doesn’t ?.

Anyway how was the bowls?

It’s pretty clear that you’re not Famara’s biggest fan!

He does miss some sitters for sure but oddly enough opposition managers seem to appreciate what he brings. They see him as a  ‘a real handful’. It’s his touch that lets him down. Having seen him at every home game I get the impression that he’s desperate to do well and tries too hard. His touch in training is probably much better.

All season he’s needed someone along side him and LJ has recognised that.

Bowls - won our first league match very comfortably, Got stuffed in a friendly at Bath yesterday tho.......
