22A
This year the tournament started yesterday, mid Summer's day, in Egypt. Due to the heat the games are starting at 10.00pm. However for security reasons, the gates are locked FOUR hours before kick off. Fans not in their seats by 6.00pm will be locked out. The commentator noted there is no roof on the main stadium, so fans were sat there in bright sun shine.. Presumably the drink sellers made a fortune. Elsewhere the Copa America is taking place and amongst the Latin American countries, Japan and Qatar are taking part.

"Invitational" teams - and what a coincidence they invited Qatar and not one of the many teams (even in the Asia region) that have played in major tournaments. Can't imagine what could have made them so attractive an opponent.
