exAtyeoMax
Well, to be honest the Kasey Palmer chant does suggest that women (wives) are owned/controlled by their husbands. Or, that he should have the power to offer her services to other men (against her will) ? Why on earth would a woman need permission to sleep with someone else than their husband, anyway? Phileas Fogg
Don't know her, but from her tweets she looks like a huge SJW who seems to find reason to complain about many things. Many chants at football are near to the knuckle if you really dig deep, lots have themes about violence which are arguably far more problematic than the Palmer one. These types of people are best ignored, but they'll always find a reason to complain about something.

mattjb
Some chants/language can be a bit awkward when you've got young kids with you and they are at that age when they want to sing along. At the end of the day you have a choice whether to take young uns to games or not knowing they are going to hear it. It made me chuckle before the game Saturday when my 7 year old daughter said"dad I hope we don't hear any bad language today, I heard someone say bloody 5 times last time "! I'm just saying, if she doesn't like it, we could choose to respect what she wants over what we want. Same fundamental thing with the flares (ignoring the legality issue for a second) but on a much lower scale as no one is physically being hurt/endangered by this, do you care about what you want, or what someone else wants? You want to sing the song, others don't like the song, what's more important to you? That's the question. I think because no one is in danger it's a perfectly fine song to sing. I'm for freedom of speech, freedom of choice when not endangering others. 4 minutes ago, Unan said: Well if they’re married then they’re in a legal and moral contract to stay faithful so I’d say permission would have to be granted. Whereas, chanting about Darrell touching dogs, violence, Irene being a prostitute, Any team from up north shagging their family, that can be close to the line as it’s more than likely true and does/will happen Yeah it's a laugh, for you, for it seems Kasey but not for it seems his wife (my assumption/evidence provided), or the person who wrote the twitter post. I prefer free speech over censorship. I'm certainly not trying to ban the song or anything like that. But I do try to consider/respect others feelings. Which is why I made the comment suggesting that we don't sing it, rather than demanding it.

I was gonna start a separate thread about being discrimination. If it is this song, I really don't know what to make of her comment. If it was complaining about a song like 'Get your tits out for that lads' then that does belong in the bin. This is where someone gets clever and rhymes brother with significant other. Anyone?
