Playing regularly at Lincoln in League One will be better for him than doing what Walsh is at Ashton Gate - training, under 23 and some bench warming. CliftonCliff
Joe is certainly putting himself about. Feisty. Seeing him in this setting is a useful reminder of what a good loan placement can provide for a young player at his stage of development. This sort of seriously competitive, senior men’s football is arguably just what Liam Walsh needs and should be getting. Instead, his last outing was this week’s U-23 game at AG - simply no comparison.

If we'd have got through that, we could've potentially put out a similar side to that U23s game in a much more competitive fixture and got those players much more valuable minutes. There’s a toughening-up process that they go through that simply can’t be replicated in age-group football. Walsh has no shortage of ability, but a full season of the kind of experience Joe’s currently getting would make a world of difference to his football education.
