Bristol City v Wigan Athletic Match Day 14

Good morning.

Again, you are stuck with me. The Lord Hav is in the mountains on an excursion, so sadly, he is unable to do today's thread.

Interesting week for us. The PR/Twitter Admin teams again pulled a masterstroke with the "Better than sex?" gif that's now spread faster than the flu.

And it's not just us. Click on that tweet and the majority of responses are from Leeds fans where LJ currently resides in their brains, rent free.

Of course. Mr Johnson Jr may have been a naughty boy and the FA have told him that he is in trouble after allegedly telling a ref/lino a few f words. Tut tut. Potty mouth. He has until tomorrow to respond but if found proven, he would be looking at paying a fine and possibly even a dug out ban.

Ah well.

On to good news. King Kalas and "It's Smith!!!!!!!!!" are back on the grass at Failand. Both aren't yet fit to play, especially Korey but hopefully sometime next month, we may see these two back lining up.

On to today.

Wigan aka Dave Whelan FC, (side note: have we ever had a Wigan under Whelan and Newcastle under Mike Ashley game? Can someone find out for me? DW Sports v Sports Direct or for the 90s kids - JJB v Sport and Ski...) and Fam the naughty boy is watching from the stands. He will also miss the two away games at Barnsley and Cardiff.

So who will play up top? The obvious choice is now Rodri with Weimann on the wing just behind. Eliasson needs to start.

Or will LJ play someone out of position? He's done it before and I'd bet we may see a MF player going up top ala Bobby Reid style.

We shall see.

This is one of my head says draw, gut says win. So I'll go for a 2-1 win.

COYRS!

Surely we can win this one. I feel LJ may go with Baker because of Kieffer Moore and their direct physical play. But I'd trust Taylor Moore and Williams to carry on as they are in a back 4.

Hope we continue our attacking threat that we saw second half of last game. Push up and press and let's try to overwhelm them.

I think Moore (Taylor) is very capable in the air.

Jagger’s up front, surely? Charlie Watts in goal.

Let’s hope we get some satisfaction then!

Fancy us to win and win well today. Think the last gasp winner in the week (after the bad defeat at Luton) is psychologically significant.

3-0

Rodri, Brownhill, Weimann

It wasn’t last season, when we beat QPR...then lost to Brum.  Let’s hope it’s irrelevant

I just think it feels different this year. There is absolutely no basis for me saying that aside from gut instinct(!) but I have a really good vibe about this squad.

I feel like there are lots of players who have or are developing real winners mentalities in a way our squads haven't always had.
