AppyDAZE
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51474229 Boo hoo hoo. The referee made sarky comments about us. Ha ha, the worm has turned. Bit of a joke when you consider the abuse the refs suffer week in week out, if you ask me.
BCFC Rich
I think I'd be less upset about the comments themselves and more concerned it suggests he might not be completely impartial. Even if that is completely untrue (I've only read the link I haven't seen the game at all), he opens himself up to those kinds of accusations. Super
In fairness should a ref really be saying those things?

AppyDAZE
i'd have more respect if he'd said "Bournemouth are only here because they dodged the rules" 5 minutes ago, Super said: In fairness should a ref really be saying those things? No , it smacks of 'we as players can say what we like.' I haven't got a problem with it . Pathetic behaviour by Bournemouth.

A referee laughing about a club’s league position is only ever going to be construed as a question mark over their professionalism, rightly or wrongly. 9 minutes ago, Vincent Vega said: No , it smacks of 'we as players can say what we like.' But blame weak referees for not taking action, the laws are clear, refs are seemingly too weak to dish out the appropriate sanctions.

So you wouldn’t have a problem with, let’s say, Keith Stroud laughing about City’s poor home form whilst actively refereeing our game? Don’t see how it can ever be seen as anything other than unprofessional tbh.

I doubt very, very much that a referee would come out with something like this had he not been getting serious verbals in the first place. Give and take, i say. Haha Just heard that Gosling said "the referee wasn't helping us much"

I’m sure there’s an element of good natured banter between players and ref in most games, but to formally highlight it suggests it goes beyond that. You’d expect Moss to have it in his match report if he was on the receiving end of anything beyond the norm.

AppyDAZE
Dan Gosling, I'm sure would also like to point out that he can hand on heart confirm that he has never been disrespectful to an official. Thought it was worth pointing this out.
Harry
I don’t see a problem with refs engaging in a bit of banter. They are human, after all. If Gosling was saying to the ref “you’re having a shocker” and the ref replies “so are you” then that’s fine in my book. He might’ve even said “you shouldn’t be reffing at this level”, to which the ref replied “yeah, and you’re in the relegation zone”. That’s a great response to be fair the the ref here. If the ref had purposely gone out of his way to say these comments to the Bournemouth players, then yes, there’s a bit of an issue there. But if, as I’d fully anticipate being the case, the ref was just responding to a player calling into question his decisions, then I don’t see a problem and Gosling ought to grow a pair. Is this Gosling the same one who broke another players leg intentionally a few years ago. He needs to look at himself, perhaps.
Lanterne Rouge
I`m in the `if you can`t take it, don`t dish it out` camp on this. It`s like when fans give a player dog`s abuse for a whole game and then go running to a steward all faux offended when he gives some back.
