What a stark contrast to the shambolic crap we witnesed last night a team thats well drilled well coached and disiplined really enjoying their performance they look really dangerous going forward aswell

Presumably they don't have Covid, no income stream, or injuries in South Yorkshire because Barnsley have played absolutely brilliantly against their Premiership opponent tonight. And with an infinitely inferior team to ours.

Or could it be they've got an infinitely superior Coach??

Could the mighty Barnsley have persuaded someone who actually knows what he's doing to coach them??

Disagree, offside not given due to the fact the girl was way behind the play, BUT what a difference to us, young Barnsley team playing together, great passing and tactics!

obviously well coached and motivated - if only we could say the same, we can only hope!

It was onside.

Barnsley played with a purpose, played as a team, pressed high up the pitch. Were well drilled and had good movement.

Contrast that to our display last night which was very defensive and disjointed.

Our forwards did not press high up the pitch and our only real intention was to try and Nick a goal and hang on.

On paper we have better players than Barnsley so what was the difference?

The difference is the calibre of coaching.

We had a real chance of progressing playing the bottom team in the Premier League (which we would have relished a few season's ago) who are a mere 10 places above us but the reality is they may as well be 100 places above us such is the belief and coaching instilled into our players by our current coaching team.

It makes my blood boil.

A significant difference can be the physical ability of players. Not all players can be conditioned to a level where they can press consistently and aggressively. Its not something that can be turned on and off on demand.

Oh dear Barnsley seemed one of our easier games this month, cant see they will be too bothered about coming to Ashton Gate next Saturday....they wont need a goalie for sure.

Shame about Sheff Utd as well as you say a decent coaching team short of a next round v Chelsea as we have some quite good players but no plan and we dont know how to use them.

That's the difference between losing and losing badly if city played like that and lost a game I wouldn't have no complaints with our lot it's the matter of how we lose that gets me,So fair play to Barnsley last night and doesn't Woodrow look a different player than he was here think you might say it's called game time.

It makes you realise just how poor we’ve become.

They’ve looked good since the new manager came in. Amazing what happens when you have a plan and bring in an experienced manager.

Only 3 points behind us now with a game in hand. They were 21st when he took over........we were 2nd.

Well we will find out when they come to fortress Ashton

100% agree with that statement. I wouldn't mind winning ugly [Warnock] but we're losing ugly big time!!!

This is actually at the root cause of a lot of our problems under the current coaching regime. We just don't defend from the front. As a consequence this puts even more pressure on the non existent  midfield.  There's an issue with three out of the four senior strikers;

Diedhiou is not that type of striker. He won't work hard enough off the ball. Can you question his commitment as he hasn't sighed a new contract? A lot of coaches would not play him because of it.

Martin is a target man and at 30+you can't expect him to play this type of press.

Wells is a finisher and requires service. Outside of the box he is not so effective.

Semenyo has pace and can play this way but is played out wide.

So the problem is the coaching and management which I think we all thought was the issue

Wells used to be a pest for Bradford and Huddersfield without the ball.
