Yates had a very good half. He's got pace but is also very very strong. Would be a threat at championship level I reckon. One moment of real quality when he controlled a high ball beautifully when running forwards at pace.

I imagine he's a Nigel Pearson type striker. He's playing alongside Simms but I think he could be just as good on his own. He has played on his own a number of times this season I think.

Ballard good too.  I’ve had it on mute, has he gone off because Snakey gouged his eye off?

Not sure why, didn't hear the commentator say anything about why he was subbed. Yeah to me Ballard looks like he has lots of potential

Out of contract at Arsenal, 5 N.Ireland caps.  Mark’s tight, gets heads and body in first.  At 21, good future imho.  Would be making a polite enquiry.

Is Yates one of the many players that we’re so say interested in?

Bloody hope so, I’ve done charts for him ???

Ballard looks a bit of a leader as well Dave. Was the one telling everyone to hold a high line for a Oxford free kick. Was very impressed with him in both legs.

Forgotten how much I'd missed the fans singing live on the telly instead of those fake crowd noises - the Blackpool choir version at 2-1 tonight of 'you are  f****ng s**t, you are f****ng s**t' brought a tear to my eye ?

Very very impressed with Blackpool.

Here’s a sign of hope for anyone worried about losing so many players, as well as a sign to City’s hierarchy - you CAN rebuild a team in just one season.

8 of Blackpool’s 10 outfield players joined them this season, and 4 of their 5 subs they used did too. That’s 12 of the 15 players they used tonight who only joined the club this season. And they look like they’d beat half the championship sides. And they only paid a fee for 1 of them - Yates.

Sod this “3 transfer windows” that managers (including Nige) always claim they need. Neil Critchley rebuilt that squad in half a season. They look great to watch.

Dan Ballard - numbers back up the performance.

Best defensive duels success % in League 1, makes a lot of aerial duels.  Doesn’t foul a lot either.

Above average for short / medium passing.

Intercepts well, without having to tackle on his arse.

Watching Brentford v Bournemouth - what a difference having supporters in the stadium makes, only 4k there but plenty of noise.

Fantastic - can't wait to get back to the Gate.

Think the Brentford keeper is massively over-rated, i may be being harsh & of course you are not expected to save a one on one, but he didnt make it hard for Danjuma to finish by any stretch. His defence should never of put him in that position to begin with however.

Probably waiting for a poor/heavy touch to pounce on and close the angle. Never happened so made it look easy.

This is gonna be a fun match. Don’t agree with Don Goodman, his arms were clearly up so its a penalty.

Whats he meant to do? I would be fuming if that was given against us in any game, especially a game this big

Both arms are above his head, may be classed as harsh, but i really don’t understand in this day and age how it wouldnt be a penalty

Ludicrous penalty award.

Abysmal decision.

You do wonder about the standard of refereeing when Eltringham & Gillett get playoff games.

He is 2 ft away and nobody slides to block like a pencil. Even the sh*t show that is VAR, that gets overturned.

If Brentford don't win this I think they'll struggle to keep this squad together. Toney, Mbeumo, Canos, Jensen, Jansson and Pinnock will be wanted by others.

Crazy that Toney has been linked with Chelsea.

Definitely think they’ll be commanding a 20mil fee at least if he is wanted by PL clubs.

The rule now is that if your hand or arm is above shoulder height and the ball strikes it - it's a pen. Even if it's unintentional, or not deliberate.

I dont think that gets overturned by VAR, no chance, you can slide without sticking your arms above your head.

Anyway, who gives a shit!? It happened.
