Big Screen Update

Bristol Rovers are disappointed to announce that there has been a further delay to the installation of the big screen at the Memorial Stadium, meaning it will not be in operation for tomorrow’s game.

As previously stated the club purchased the new 30sqm screen in July last year from Stadia Solutions, a leading international sports and entertainment agency that specialises in fully managed technology and media platforms, with the aim of having the screen installed next to the Brunel sponsored South Stand by the end of 2018.

Although the screen was delivered on time in October, due to its size a special bespoke support structure was required to attach the screen to the current steelworks at the stadium. Unfortunately, the unique nature of this structure led to various complications with Stadia Solutions’ sub-contractor, resulting in subsequent delays with installation.

Work started this week , ahead of the new proposed completion date of this weekend. However, the contractors have experienced further unforeseen issues on site which has delayed installation slightly. The team has been working tirelessly to fix the problems encountered but unfortunately screen will not be installed and operational in time for tomorrow’s game which is hugely disappointing. Work will continue next week and completed as soon as it possible.

We apologise for the further inconvenience and would like to thank all supporters and screen sponsor Brunel Professions for their continued patience.

When your new tv screen is nowhere to be seen that’s the Rovers!

Did anybody tell the 15ers this thing would need a power supply ?

I’d imagine that’s what the delay is, tapping into their neighbours Electricity supplies.

I noticed in their statement the words ‘unique structure’ can’t help themselves can they ?

So they’ve had a 30sq m screen in storage for SEVEN MONTHS? Blimey, someone’s wasted some money and failed to perform due diligence.

Technology should always be acquired Just In Time (never Just Too Late) so that it can provide benefit from day one.

There’s a cost on someone’s balance sheet yielding no benefit.  Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

Yup.  You make sure you have somewhere to put it and then order it when the frame is ready for it to go on to.

The tech of these tellies moves so fast that the price of the old ones drops steadily.  It probably came with a Betamax recorder.

According to a Sag who paid their club shop a visit today (is it still a rusty portacabin?) it was being run on generators as they had no power ?

Well there's absolutely no cause to assume that they have been cut off for not paying the bill.

People get their electricty cut off for all manner of reasons.  There's hurricanes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and not paying the bill.

Bristol Rovers are disappointed to announce that there has been a further delay to the installation of the big screen at the Memorial Stadium, meaning it will not be in operation for tomorrow’s game or the next one....and probably the one after that too.

As previously stated the club purchased the new 30sqm screen in July last year from Stadia Solutions, a leading international sports and entertainment agency that specialises in fully managed technology and media platforms, with the aim of having the screen installed next to the Brunel sponsored Tent by the end of 2018, but these things take time you seeeeee.

Although the screen was delivered on time in October, due to its size a special bespoke support structure was required to attach the screen to the current tent at the stadium. Unfortunately, the unique nature of the tent  led to various complications with Stadia Solutions’ sub-contractor as they couldn’t fit it without the wind blowing bringing the whole tent down, resulting in subsequent delays with installation.

Work started this week , ahead of the new proposed completion date of this weekend. However, the contractors have experienced further unforeseen issues on site, in other words they haven’t been paid which has delayed installation slightly. The team has been working tirelessly to fix the problems encountered but unfortunately the screen will not be installed and operational in time for tomorrow’s game as it requires time to evolve. Work will continue next week and completed as soon as Wally pays the frigging bill.

We apologise for the further inconvenience and would like to thank all supporters and screen sponsor Babestationfor their continued patience.

Fans can claim a free out of date packet of crisps from the condemned pasty shack for any inconvenience this might cause.

sewage solutions or whoever supplied the screen, probably want cash on completion after hearing about fencegate etc. would kind of explain a delay if they have to pay for something, they don't do that kind of thing

This wouldn’t surprise me at all, probably seen the accounts (still waiting to be made public) and downed tools. Although the Fewers think a sponsor has funded the lot.

You still going on?

Personally I'm bored of your pointless argumentative nature.

Let's use this thread as an opportunity to laugh at our lesser neighbours, not one for your boring point scoring...

Contrary to your belief, I really couldn't care about you whatsoever, and I really don't understand why you feel like mentioning me regularly.

If you can't take a reaction on a forum without getting angry over it, I don't think you're the right person to be lecturing others about how to survive in this 'big bad world'

You’re a boring hypocrite - contrary to your grandiose splutterings, you have ‘laughed’ at and joined in with anti gas sentiments on here, being rude to our gas visitors, yet.....you have then agreed with people who are condemning anti gas sentiments - whilst giving your trademark ‘eggplant’ reactions to those who have a go at gas visitors on here....you are obviously confused and all over the place.....I suggest you are the one with ‘anger’ issues....you are a boring, hypocrite - no need to interact anymore, let’s leave it there and just get on with supporting our team....

Poor bastards were probably hoping to show the Villa vs City match on their shiny new big screen tomorrow. They’ll be more interested in that than watching their own shower lumping balls around the ground.

Sags will just have to do what they usually do and follow our game on their mobile phones instead.

I can't stop laughing! So Steve gets money from the 15ers (good luck with that, Steve) which could indirectly percolate into our coffers! Brilliant!

Lovely jubbly! Stick a pony in me pocket ...

Oh but wouldn't it be good if he had to sue them for the money and it puts them under!

Maybe that is part of his plan to get rid of the gas shithouses? If SL doesn’t receive payment then unlike the rest I’m pretty sure he’ll take them to the cleaners.

Can tell they are getting a little worried now, instead of it being the worst thing that could possibly happen to them, it’s now ‘I hope the Ted’s do go up as we can laugh at them getting tanked every week’ funny how Windass is a Sag legend despite never playing for them though and then took it in turns to **** him off up Chasers ?

What a fanbase they are, no one quite like them, they wouldn’t care less how shit they are doing themselves ‘as long as da shit get stuffed every week in the Prem

Maybe they should have waited until the legendary big screen was up and running before taking the piss out of the opposition ...

"I wonder how many tickets Bradford have sold for tomorrow. I've heard most people in Bradford can't afford a TV. This could be their first view of a big screen or even a small one in the bars. Got to be a sell out on their part surely. Whippet TV viewers need not apply."

In choosing a stadium, I think I'd have Bradford's, rather than their tented village.

I'm not sure it's worth bragging about a screen which is on sale or return from Steve Lansdown.

Blimey Steve....nice one!

When they realise it won't work without a remote, how much are you planning to charge them for that?  And how long will they have to wait for delivery?

The gift.

So in the time it takes for them to purchase and install a TV, we built the South Stand???

The issue apparently stems from a line in the installation instructions that reads

"for sufficient ventilation please ensure there is at least a hand widths of space at the back of the unit" - They are struggling to find bolts long enough apparently

Really?

There's a difference between having a laugh at our neighbours (which is what this thread is for) and purposefully being rude to one of them for the sole reason that he's a rovers fan....

We're going round in circles here, try and get on with your life without getting upset at people who don't agree with you. I know it must be hard...
