S25loyal
15 hours ago, Rich said: Interesting article in the post about sites considered for Bristol's arena. One site assessed and deemed unsuitable for reasons below, was the fruit market. It states it was not big enough for their planned arena (17,000). Also multiple lease holders. So it begs the questions, how big a stadium could be built and, are those multiple leaseholders the reason nothing appears to be happening regarding the purchase of the site by a consortium with, no direct connection to BRFC. From the Post article: Despite being further out from the city centre it was considered that the site “occupies a more accessible location to Bristol city centre” However availability of the site was considered an issue because of multiple leases covering individual units on the site. The site was also deemed too small for the arena complex that YTL has planned in Filton. But @Spoons said it’s all tied up and rovers are moving in next week
Bristol Rob
Just went for a quick gander over at Gas chat, and it appears one of them has done a podcast with Matty Taylor. Amazing the amount of bitterness some of them seem to hold, granted, a fair number now appear to be over it, but the hate they seem to have for a bloke who is neither a Rovers or City fan and just an employee who clearly wanted a chance to earn more money and have a chance of Championship football is amazing. They seem to blame everything and everyone for him moving on, bar the fact that if they spent their time getting behind their club they might be in a position to pay players what they're worth increase their aged fan base to include a new generation of supporters and to help drive the club forward. But they'd rather play the victim. As reasonable a signing as Taylor was, he was never (to any club) going to be a multimillion quid transfer, he was probably worth no more than 750k as a League One player, and possibly double that with a bit of Championship experience. I think they are all a bit deluded as far as Championship to League One standards are.

Its changed totally in any case from when they were last in it. (1992?)

Most of them probably weren’t born last time they were in the second tier. Twenty five years at least ain’t it .
