Nearly the anniversary of when Wally arrived fresh from being rejected by Gillingham and all their fans said they were on the way to the Prem.

Hows it going slags?

2016, eh?

That must have been the year for delusions of grandeur that come crashing down with a growing realisation 7 years later that it was all based on lies, false promises, unachievable objectives.

Embarrassing himself (and them) even more these days. Fantastic row of tweets like a ******* madman. Her game too embassador as a club too,  going to have a field day with this no doubt

Wish someone else had said it cause I tend to agree with him!

He is literally that person who simply does not know when to keep his big gob shut. It's obvious that the bloke's response to being under pressure is to gob off and if this run of theirs extends much longer Mr Rolex will be put in a position where his Manager embarrasses the club to such a large degree he will end up having to pull the plug on him...............accident waiting to happen. Whatever any of us say about Steve Lansdown he would not have someone with Joey's rap sheet continuing to put himself and therefore the club in a compromising position like that. Misogyny, Wife Beating charges, Assault charges, abusing other Managers verbally, offering out opposition players on the radio............it's all starting to reflect on the "Peoples Club" not just their Manager.

He let Ashton/Johnson put the club in a compromising position did he not? One that we are still paying for today

Yes, financially he did. He trusted Mark Ashton, even went against the fanbase, and as a result both the club and himself in terms of his sky rocket have been paying the price for three years since. I would argue that is not the same as appointing a Manager who needs his Wife to retract her statement to the Police to avoid a domestic abuse trial, has previous in defending a player was convicted for beating his missus up in a City Centre, requires another court appearance to defend charges of assaulting another manager, regularly criticises other managers including one who absolutely cakewalked the same league he got relegated from not so long back, who tweets bollocks on a scale that Donald Trump would find difficult to match, is heard to be threatening to "finish" a 21 year old opposition player live on the radio and in a previous life thought he would teach a youth team player a lesson by stubbing a big fat Cuban out in his eye...........and that's not even the end of the rap sheet.

I can only imagine what type of fanbase you would need to be in order to be "prowed" of having the above representing your "great family club" as your Manager................

The financial compromises you identify reflect badly on Bristol City in terms of the thoughts of its supporters who have had to put up with crap football since and only now see some light at the end of a long tunnel, the rest of it I identified would look terrible on the club on a national scale if Steve appointed a Manager with that behaviour record. Massive difference between the two which is easily understandable.

But serious question, why do think it would?

Think they know the technical side of the game, will know more about game scenarios and generally a better understanding of those that currently take up the whistle. Not talking top end pros as they don't need to work but maybe those from the lower reaches of the pro game

Can you expand on technical side, how it would work?

Referee's train for decades, referee many matches, have a lot more experience. All of which you'd expect would make them perhaps have a better understanding of the game from a more neutral side no?

Joey has done quite the job in his 2 years.

1 arrest.

2 Court cases, defended with more skills than his side. (One off the post, not listed, he didn't know someone else was driving his car).

1 relegation. Although according to him, he wasn't responsible.

1 promotion, which was apparently down to him, and not the form of various loan players.

And err, they are largely back in the same position they were on when he tool over, other than the club now loses even more money every year.

Thing is, Fewers lap this up. Any future manager (as per Joey and Clarke) just need to get a quick relegation on their tenure, get them back to where they were and get legend status.

A strange bunch.

Can’t express how much joy I’m taking in this. Rovers mates don’t think I’m crazy or anti Barton now after all. This sums it up perfick:

“Joey Barton has taken us from utter dogshit in lower midtable League One, to utter dogshit lower midtable League One - via League Two” is more accurate.

Please don't put Clarke anywhere near the same sentence as that muppet?! What he achieved for us was far greater.

He took over with 8 games left whilst we were sinking quicker than the titanic, took responsibility for the relegation even though it was not on him, built a mostly non-league team and took us from non-league to the brink of the playoffs in League One. Who know's what would have happened if you didn't buy the ?. The atmosphere around the club changed and was really positive for the majority of time too. Not many clubs exit NL at the first attempt. We did so without going down there and throwing money about. We had none. (We still don't,)

Barton had like 20 games and saw us finish 5 points adrift of Swindon which seemed impossible, Rejected having anything to do with it despite being worse than both Tisdale and Garner, got us promoted and is still the biggest most arrogant ******** in football despite losing 26/58 League one games with us. Barton has been afforded the opportunity to have a massive backroom team, and to chop and change them as frequently as he sees fit.

Clarke IS a legend. Barton will forever be a *****.
