Just had a quick look, a very wide variety of opinion from 'it's happening, let's think of the new stadium name' right through to 'so many previous disappointments'.

Maybe that could be the stadium name then, the So Many Previous Disappointments Stadium.

The stadium of shite

Surely if they are relying on the developer (who will want as large a margin as possible) to build a ground for them in exchange for land, they will be looking at a full on barebones stadium in the guise of the Kassam or New Meadow rather than anything better? Possibly something like Rotherham's at an absolute push?

They`re all over there arguing about the best way to get there from North Bristol bless them!

It's hilarious. People saying the stadium isn't on a good location because there aren't many busses.

I wonder - before it was built - how many busses went to The Mall at Cribbs.

Well, given it didn't exist, you would have to say the answer is none.

Some of them are thick as mince, they really are. The fact a new service could be introduced is just beyond the tiny minds of a few. At least they have the odd sensible voice over there, but no doubt they'll probably get told to 'Get back to Trashton' by the end of the day, such are their insecurities.

Not sure why a sports agent would be needed to pitch for an infrastructure project. Unless of course, a laptop repair man was invovled.

Strange isn't it, especially when the poster is questioned on it later he can't name the Agency, but apparently knows they are a "World's Top" one.

Prospective investors? Hang on, why are they needed? Are they saying that Wally hasn't got the money now? How can that be for the 6th richest club?

Well that's standard to be fair, SL is looking for additional investors for the Sporting Quarter, it's just a way of spreading the liabilities.

I'm guessing connections, but I wonder would they be willing to do that for free ?
What would investors get out of it ? They would want to make money so Wael would be in the same position he was in with the UWE site. Not completely owned and having to pay rent or interest, the big difference being the build would be massively more expensive now.

To be fair to that particular poster, she has mentioned previously that the investor who was approached is known by a family member and, in fact, declined as he did not consider any possible investment to be of interest to him.

Nothing more or less to be read in to that.

Wael has just released a statement saying….basically nothing. And they’re lapping it right up. So odd.

There was one thing. Last week the developer had paid £450k for an option on the land. Today, according to Wally, they have agreed to buy it.

Not sure that 450k was money well spent!

Well the bit about Conygar buying the land is an out and out lie, based on reports in all other outlets. He says he told them there would be a stadium at the Fruit Market, but skirts over the original timeframe and then goes on to talk about building at their current stadium. That last bit should give the Gasheads concern because either the timeframe is such that developing the Men makes commercial sense, or they are nowhere near as certain the stadium will be built as they suggesting.

It's all Emperor's New clothes, and he will keep stringing them on as long as they let him.

“tiny minds”

Rob,

Thought you ought to know it’s spelt buses, only due to your comments on the intelligence of others ?
