The only ambition any of you have is to be in the same  league as us . You might find this ironic as you’re on a city forum taking the piss out of you 15ers. However , what is true & I know this because I have quite a few of you cuckoos as mates is that you obsess over us . You hate us , not because of sporting rivalry but because we’re something that you’ll never become. You’ve been mismanaged for decades & in you’re twisted logic you all blame us for this . I suppose it’s easier to do that than look closer to home.
we've always challenged our owners no matter who they’ve been over the years. We’ve protested in the 80’s when Terry cooper was sacked & we’ve questioned the club over many things over the years. The reason being is that we won’t just put up with any old crap the club comes out with.

you lot on the other hand just put your heads in the sand & say , it’s not my fault or what can we do . You just put up with any old crap they say. As a fanbase your weak & cowards .

Bit embarrassing this, to be honest.  Let's choose our battles wisely.  There are so many easy targets, no need to reinvent history

Oh no, Barton's no longer talking to the Post.

How will Saggy fans get their fix of his wisdom now?

If only he offered some sort of subscription service on his Twitter they could sign up to for exclusive content. That would fill the void from his lack of communication in the local press wouldn't it?

Wait a minute.......

Anyway, without getting into the Danny Baker discussion (he is as passionate an anti-racist as he is an anti-royalist), you'll be well aware, no doubt, of Rovers' history as the perennial right-wing bigots of Bristol football, famously hosting the National Front selling its newspaper at home games. Meanwhile, conversely, the distinctly anti-racist Socialist Worker was on sale at City in the early 90s.

I'm not in a position to comment on this, but I can say that Bristol was quite a racist city until quite recently and even now is far from the multicultural nirvana that it is caricatured as. However, I have absolutely no reason to believe that City fans were more progressive in this regard, and here its worth noting that I have recently highlighted a number of cultural sensitivities for the attention of several contributors.

I can however say with considerably greater certainty that your socialist credentials have been brought into clear question by the extent to which you have bent over for Mr Lansdown and his fortune.

"I'm not in a position to comment on this, but I can say that Bristol was quite a racist city until quite recently".

What the actual ****? I'm starting to believe you actually might be Joey Barton. If you were from Bristol, you would be only too well aware that our city as a whole is one of the most inclusive and progressive in the country. Although sadly, the Blue Few do rather let the rest of us down, what with being a bunch of daft old racists and that.

I have no socialist credentials whatsoever, or any other political credentials. But I would rather be bent over by someone who has a fortune, than a clear charlatan who hasn't a fortune.

Wouldn't say no to a vulture either, not till I've tried it ?

I See the Gas are considering recruiting an Ex of ours......... Jack Hunt? Who i believe has been released by Sheff Wed?   He is one player I would not wish on my worst enemy!   Though when i come to think of it?...............he'd be a perfect fit for them!!

They’ve announced him. They’re spending a lot of money on ageing players.

An interesting link, but Iran is not generally spoken of as part of the Middle East. You are presumably also aware that the Islamic Republic is towards the more extreme end of the Islamic political spectrum, which leaves you open to the charge of cherry-picking.

The region is not just defined in geographical terms, but also in ethnic, religious and cultural terms. Iran is generally spoken of as something separate from the Middle East, and as an external force that acts on the region.

I don't know if you noticed, but the link is from the Middle East section of the BBC World website. Where else do you think the country sits?  It's hardly South Asia or Central Asia, is it? The "Persian Gulf" washes its shores, just as it does those of Kuwait and the entire east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. The Shatt-Al-Arab estuary with Iran on one bank, Iraq in the middle and Kuwait at the far side, is just 120 miles wide at its mouth.  Iran may not be part of the Arab world, as a majority Farsi speaking country, but it most certainly is part of the Middle East and it plays an active role in its neighbours' affairs, sponsoring political parties, militia and militant groups in Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine, Libya, Sudan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi and elsewhere.

If you want me to "cherry-pick" an Arab-speaking state, take Saudi itself. Women are required to wear a niqab and abaya in public, cannot spend any time with males who are not immediate family and cannot even leave the house without their husband's consent. It's not surprising this is the only country where Christianity is illegal, except for non-Saudi residents. Even Iran has churches, allows Christians to wear crucifix jewellery and possess Bibles.  Every year hundreds of women flee Saudi - so much so that the government has now rolled out an app to track their movements.

https://mirrorherald.com/saudi-arabia-track-women-movements/

Yes, there are a few who might welcome their restrictive life as "true Islam" or a choice, but I think you'd find most would welcome more choice - even if they chose to wear niqabs.

Holy crap, you are seriously going with that?
Tell you what… https://www.thenationalnews.com/lifestyle/fashion/2022/03/08/the-fight-for-the-hijab-muslim-women-lament-their-lack-of-freedom-to-choose/?outputType=amp

Hijab isn’t an article of religious oppression, it’s a cultural choice, that is suppressed in some places by religious zealots, and not only those zealots that claim to follow Islam… it’s the choice to or nor to that’s cracked down on by some

Some people need serious education…and  I don’t just mean in the Middle East…

I don't support banning hijabs any more than I support making them compulsory. I support women being able to choose what they wear.

Don't you?

@TomF are you taking your ban hammer with you when you depart? Personally, I think that you should use it just once more, for old time’s sake, because now the novelty of our most recent subscriber has quickly worn off, the result is that the most reliably enjoyable thread on the ever excellent OTIB is being too regularly derailed onto subjects better suited to a world politics forum. I’m possibly in a minority in thinking this way but I wouldn’t mind betting I’m not the only one.

Let’s clear the (hot) air and lose the troll.  They won’t be missed.

Sorry Rudolf,I am afraid that I have to disagree with you. I think we should keep him.Perhaps in the interests of democracy, we could have a virtual "show of hands"?I suspect you will be the clear winner if we do though.

And they will lap it all up and then blame the Post on why people have to pay poor old Joey for information on their club.

I cannot believe what he is doing hasn't been stopped by their club, but they seem so scared of him that he does whatever he wants. Why are they not up in arms about this? If they weren't so tinpot this would make National news (or a few more headlines) with a manager blatantly ripping off its own fans. But as usual they just all take it and say nothing.

Now we know why the gAss are begging their fans to sign up to the no pot to piss in scheme at £2 per week. They’re nicking all our scouts ?

Yes because there is more money being invested into a YTS scheme then a level 2 academy that may well because a level 1 in the future due to the multi millions being invested,

They really are thick as pig shit

And legally we can just take any decent youth from them for peanuts due to where our academy sits in the food chain and there is not a thing they can do about it
