No, I think you are right, I said in an earlier post that they would never admit it, but there are floating fans like students and people working in the area that will just go for their football fix.

It's not like they priced it to compete either, wasn't a seat in their new stand about the same as walk up ticket to our game?

I don’t know why but something came up on my twitter feed about their tickets. For their next game adults £36, 65+ and under 18s £32 and u14s £20. For league 1 football watching in that dive of a stadium is absurd.

someone commented that there were Bath city fans going to their game but went to City instead coz it was cheaper.

The excuse is easy, "Bristol City were playing at home."

Only two mentions of their low attendance on their "forum", one of which was accused of being a Ted, otherwise it has been predictably ignored.

They bury their heads in the sand - "its what they do".

That's crazy, so I looked.

£29 in the centre of the new stand , not sure if you pay more to be behind a pillar.
Half way line Terrace £26 and the Stand above is £36

Makes you think , and we moan about our prices.

Blimey ! A couple of sensible Pikeys;

I have just read an article concerning Tommy Widdington, young players and the Teds. Said Teds have just signed a young player from Aldershot Town, released as 16 year old by Ipswich but didn't give up and has fought back,  they have paid 250,000 for him and loaned him back for season, he went there because of their reputation for developing players and giving them a chance. All this is a lesson to our own youngsters who were not given chance, don't give up, also a lesson to Rovers , if you don't give youngsters a chance they will not want to come here, as a life long Rovers fan the article does not make for enjoyable reading.

City do a good job on attracting young supporters and families of that there is no doubt.
But they have a user friendly stadium that holds 27,000, so lots of space on an average game to put the discounted ticket holders. Plus, their main attraction is a higher level/standard of football which is the main attraction for the young.
Our new owners seem to be slowly improving our facilities, but without progression on the pitch it doesn’t matter what deals/discounts are offered, the young won’t come in their numbers.

'Lots of space on an average game'? Not sure that's right with our crowds.

Build it and they will come......apparently

"Still loads of tickets left for tomorrow night, reckon it’ll be one of the lowest home attendances of the season."

🤣 🤣 🤣

They've had to slash prices for tomorrow too in order to meet the 75% requirement for a test event...

Incredible 🤣

No wonder their new owners don’t want to spend money on a proper stadium if they’re having to slash prices just to fill 75% of their brand new stand. By this time tomorrow night Wally might have to walk up Filton Ave knocking on doors asking for volunteers.

Potential new excuse as well, they’ve used rain before but now…

Edit: DOUBLE new excuse klaxon! 🚨📯

1) Windy

2) There are other home games coming up.

Popped over to get the bigger story. Ended up reading their transfer window chat. The usual stuff, 'Rovers linked with X' rumour, 'a player who will go on to play in the PL', 'it will be a club record fee', 'sell on at a big profit'.

We may have heard this before......will the fax machine have another hiccup?

Local news tonight saying Martin is coming back.

Isn’t that the same stand as the Exeter fans use? So are they paying £10 too? And if not how does that comply with EFL rules about charging away fans no more than home fans?

Edit: they’ve also given Exeter an additional 500 tickets, in a desperate attempt to hit the 75%. And for Exeter, those extra are still £26.

Good question - there was previously leeway for "local promotions" in the EFL rules which allowed home fans to be charged less for (I think) 3 games per season but it now says that "There are no Local Promotions permitted under the Regulation as per previous seasons".

See 35.3.11 - https://www.efl.com/governance/regulations/
