Scare_Man
With a few boozers out of action and the weather looking decidely dodgey what recommendations are there for pre-match food in BS3 nowadays? And as an exile over the border, are most pubs etc back in the motherland just open as normal or still taking bookings?

Yep, it was a murky business all round. Probably the last major example of where this lobby group were able to stop development, but even there Steve Lansdown has still managed to use the sale of half of that land for housing to fund the new sporting quarter.

Carey 6
Prices of a pint are over £5 now in the ground. Went down last Saturday and a round of 2 golds and a Guinness was £15.70 iirc. Season ticket would get you 10% off though.

If 4 pints is over 20 quid, might as well drive.

To make money during the week and the summer you need things like pool teams, darts teams and possibly a football team. When I was local there was darts 3 nights of the week and a regular Friday meeting by a group called the RAOB. It was still quiet during the day. Personally I went in there every Friday night with mates, all home games and when I got off the CATS coach after an away game. My mum and dad each played for a darts team.

Yeah totally, I remember years ago in the Luckwell there'd be Men's Darts on a Monday, Crib on a Tuesday, Pool on Wednesday, Ladie's darts on a Thursday (always with a decent raffle too) and then a good old fashioned Meat Raffle on a Sunday. That kept the till ticking over. Also a singer in on a Saturday night too.
