Understandably lots of anger and frustration about the two poor goals we conceded. However, based on our overall performance we were certainly worth at least a point IMO.

Well played the traveling fans.

I know it’s too late and in vain but can we please refrain from scapegoating anyone…we win, draw and lose together.

Not scapegoating as such, you’ve got to look at the keeper for both goals, as well as our ongoing inability to deal with physical teams upfront.

Luton did the square root of **** all to win that.

Difficult for us to do anything when we concede at 2 goals per game though

Which are generally our own doing, massengo and O’Leary Saturday and O’Leary for both of them Tonight

Lots of positives from this tonight.

I get frustrated by the weak as piss goals we concede, but there were also lots of good things from tonight.

We will stay up and we will get better with an amazing bunch of youngsters ?

Deserved a point tonight. Let’s hope Klose is the answer as we need reinforcements in defence. We’ve also said it many times before, but we also need Williams to now stay fit for the rest of the season.

Agreed he looked bright when he came on, but I hope he’s not going to be one of those players that’s a slight over stretch from an injury all the time

Extremely irritating result which sums up where we are at this time

we are starting to consistently play well and some of the kids are shining

That said you cannot avoid the obvious and that is max is absolutely not good enough for this level, and the constant rabbit in headlights on the goal line moments are just way too common and a clear deficiency in his game

Oh well. We just need to grow from this. Be more ruthless when we are on top. Get a bit tougher defending set pieces(Klose helps this massively if you are on the fence on that one). All forgotten with 3 points on Saturday.

Not much bad to say about anyone. Could nitpick a few things but wasn’t a poor performance. Good growth game for the young uns I reckon. Shows they need to get a bit quicker and stronger. Luton not much but athletic and hard working. Going to be a lot of that in their careers

Just have to take the positives from tonight. We have played well but poor defending and finishing in a game where we have been the much better side. If we can get firing at one end or the other we should be more than comfortable staying in the division.

Yeah. Its another defeat but clear progress and after years of not knowing who best 11 is and changing formation every other game, we have a pretty clear core group, set formation and an emerging style of play. The defending is infuriating. But I actually quite enjoyed that.

It’s just frustrating as much as anything.

Signs of real progress, particularly in the first half. Second much more even. Again, just two average crosses in to our box and no one of ours near it. We always seem to have to score 3 to win. There would be second division defences disappointed with our defending on their goals.

Always think defences are built on partnerships. Ours are non existent right now.

As dominant a display for the first 35 mins as I have seen from us in a long time. Just lacking a bit of quick movement and some poor crosses cost us.

Bad call to play Chris Martin again. He was very good fresh against Cardiff, but expecting him to start again a few days later resulted in a predictable leg weary display. Now he is going to be even more leg weary if selected to start against PNE.

P1ss poor goal keeping by Max at fault for both goals, as he was for Cardiff's 2nd. Bentley has to come back in.

All that said should have ended 2-2 but for a shockingly poor finish by Wells in injury-time.

Frustrating one. Thought we looked the better team for large parts.

Unfortunately, we continue to concede soft goals. Often feels like we need to score 2 just to have a chance of getting a point. It's been like this all season too, so unfair to lump all the blame on O'Leary.

Big picture still looking positive though - we're moving in the right direction.

Best defeat we've had there in years!

Bloody annoying goals to concede and whilst we looked decent in possesion most of the time, there wasn't enough end product. Still think we were worth a point though.

Sums up our season really. Didn't really deserve to lose but didn't do enough to win either. Plenty of the ball and played OK for most of the game but lacked a cutting edge and conceded two sloppy goals from simple balls into our box. If we are to make any real progress we have to turn games like this into draws.

That tonight pretty much summed us up . Not just this season but historically

Luton were terrible, but we just never cope against big physical players

Our defence is pitiful it really is.

Fair play to the kids tonight though. Massengo especially . Let down by school boy defending

Got to start keeping the ball out the net. I really think we may have won that with Bentley. But still, Scott looked very good and Weimann with ANOTHER goal. Some good positive play too and I think we’ve really got a good thing coming with some of these youngsters we have. On to the next.

Last 3 games we’ve conceded 2 goals a game to desperately poor sides and 6 goals to an outstanding side. Terrifying stats. We need a new defensive strategy  pronto- at least one new face and, frankly, much better coaching and managerial organisation. ‘Too good to go down ‘ is a mantra of at least half the teams who go down. Yes, some excellent displays from some young prospects, but overall this is probably the softest City side I’ve seen in 50 years- and at a time when we have a hard man for a manager!

Disappointed with the result but not the performance, some real building blocks on place for next season with Pring, Scott, Semenyo and Massengo all playing well. Moved the ball pretty well in periods too, if we cam get the likes of Wells and Palmer off the books this week and bring in a CB that should be enough to see us safely in mid table this season before the next phase of the rebuild in the summer.

It’s a shame but it’s where we’re at. As and when we are looking at going up we will need to be winning those games but until then we will lose a good few like that as we progress. Much rather we won Saturday and lost today than the other way around that’s for sure!   Onwards…..

I thought Williams looked very good when he came on - we need a run of games from him.

While i agree that he looked very good in the brief time he was on, and a run of games would be great under normal circumstances, I REALLY hope that we nurse him back a bit and don't try and flog him x3 a week and break him in 2-3 weeks like we did the last 2 times.

About time we dominate games, it is usually us doing the mugging when we travel away and get the win.

Manmarking from set-pieces is a real issue, need one or two more brutes at the back to take control of those situations. Missing Baker massively.

Refreshing to see the young boys get more game-time and we need to keep Williams fit, best central midfielder we've had in a long time.

Another promising performance but so weak at the back.

Wells with the most pathetic cameo I’ve seen in a while just tear up his contract please.

Joe Williams superb off the bench so classy, will definitely start Saturday.

Special mention for Cam Pring who just gets better with every game, especially running with the ball, looks so quick and powerful.

I’m enjoying watching City again for the first time in a while regardless of 5 losses in 7.

If as it seems Pearson doesn't  fancy Bentley then apart from anything else we need a keeper for next season.

Decent going forward, but first half final ball not great and second half missed some good chances. HNM and Scott did very well first half, tired a bit second half, but overall great given asked to do a tricky job, no sign of being overrun in midfield. Jay doing a decent job since topping up his Oyster card.

I’m reasonably convinced that we’re much better going forward since Max has been in the team, but between him and defence we’re struggling with first things first principle of defending. Not convinced by DB, often stuck to his line as well and very capable of blunders as well (see Fulham). Hopefully keeping working as a unit in training and working very, very hard at dealing with balls into the box and our current travails will improve.

I almost wish Williams was rubbish, he looks so good that the angst of him breaking down again is giving me palpitations.

Lots to work on, but watching a side that both works hard and is entertaining, is so different to what we’ve had for many a year, particularly at this level (post Dicks favourite teams all 3rd/4th tier).
