The phantom promotion

Imagine being triggered by footballers being called players!   :rofl2br:

Truly the most delicate of all the various varieties of snowflakes are the Daily Mail writers and those who comment on their stories.

For information, player of the match is used in lots of sports and internationally as the norm.  Not for "woke" reasons, it just always has been.  I imagine if ITV decided to change its traditional term it was to help international sales of its content - or perhaps the usual caption writer had a day off and was replaced by someone who doesn't know UK sport very much. I doubt it was to deny Harry Kane's masculinity or to allow for the high level of transgender players in professional football.

Besides, they don't seem to have told their website about this alleged change:  https://www.itv.com/football/articles/man-of-the-match-michael-olise-reacts-following-crystal-palaces-win-over

As ever with the cat story, the truth is not as has been reported. Bristol University never included "catgender" in a pronoun list and such lists and signatures are not mandatory.   https://www.newsweek.com/no-college-did-not-say-students-can-identify-feline-1677227

These fake stories seem to spread, like much that is harmful and fraudulent, from the States.  My son is a teacher in Michigan and he sent me this link to another pretend moral outrage faked to get the gullible tutting:  https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2022/01/30/fact-check-rumor-litter-box-michigan-school-false/9214248002/
