Oh yes I agree but if they were widely accepted across all levels of society at the time, then there wouldn't have been front page headlines everytime he got new ink because nobody would care. Think back to how many footballers had tattoos 25 years ago. Hardly any when you look through old photos. Now youd probably find most players have them.
