Everyone in our class signed up apart from my mate who’s dad worked for Imperial Tobacco! Yeah - I remember those posters. In those days mind didn't everyone's parents smoke! Bas's perfect hattrick
Maybe we can get a shirt sponsor from a company that doesn't profit from human misery.... West Ham also have a betting company as shirt sponsor, but they offer a shirt option without the sponsor logo. I would definitely get a replica shirt then (shirts look a lot better without some commercial crap on the front in any case), but I would never get a shirt with a betting company on the front.

You'll be delighted when the club announce the new sponsor isn't a gambling company. Oh yeah, they already did just that two and a half weeks ago.. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/bristol-city-announces-historic-principal-partnership-with-huboo/

I'm all for the halt on gambling being forced down our throat, but it does strike me as odd occurring before the end of the season. Have they not built up a enough f a user base to feed from ? Were they just a front for JL to funnel more money into the club ? Is it something else to do with Mark Ashton ? Any and all other conspiracy theories are welcome. It won't be a loss to me. Their betting site is a total pig to use, give me PP, Bet365 or SkyBet, everytime !
sglosbcfc
Bristol Rovers were sponsored by Pound World, until they couldn't stand the embarrassment anymore...and who can blame Pound World for being embarrassed.

I remember they won the rights in a raffle. Other odd non-league ones were Margate FC sponsored by the band Bad Manners and St Albans were sponsored by Roy of the Rovers. Edit: While fact-checking this post, I found a great pic of Roy watching St Albans from their luxurious press box: St Albans are sponsored by Enter Shikari, an emo band. So not much has changed. Ignoring the fact that 'I'm too old to get a city top', I have two lovely training tops from the last couple of years that don't feature any sponsor's logo.
Selred
Ed Sheeran sponsors Ipswich doesn't he? Think Jake Bugg sponsored someone like Notts County too? I agree it should be a charity for the final 6 weeks, seeing as Mansion Bet are shut.

If they've paid the money for the season (or still going to honour any outstanding payments) then I'm guessing it has to remain as city would be in a breach of contract. Also still the casino site they have so still advertising their brand even if the betting business has gone. If they went bust and failed to pay any money due, then it would be breach of contract and city could take it off and put something else on there instead. If it's just a modern, san serif font (as opposed to some fake olde worlde nonsense) then we'll be fine. If they want to include the little box graphic, it'll look a bit Play School. Oh Louie louie
Yes, im a reg at betfred north street. We have had the nailsea staff here. Since covid when the betfred reopened, they lost 70 per cent of their custom. Robbo is correct. Fred also would not pay redundancy, he insisted on doubling up on staff in other branches, which hour wise is impossible. The short kid, got the east steet gig robbo, il give him 2 weeks.
