bpexile
Please excuse my ignorance on this subject but can someone please explain what constitutes a "home grown player" & it has Kalas as home grown, which is confusing me. Under 21 players that are under contract are listed separately.
Ska Junkie
Andi Weimann is home grown too, maybe to do with the academy they attended.
Monkeh
It's to do with training at a club before the age of 22 I think say you have to be at a English based club before that age or some bollocks
James54De
Yep, 2(?) years at a British club under the age of 21(?) constitutes home grown.

France, wiki says he played for Caen youth team, but I’m pretty sure he was interviewed and said he played a local youth team in Caen??? @Monkehis right, it’s to do with youth years. Both Weimann and Kalas were at Villa and Chelsea respectively at young ages. Massengo is not just home grown, but classed as “club developed” believe it or not.

It might sound similar in an English accent, but I think you will find he was playing a lot further south, in Cannes to be precise. I am pretty sure one of his parents was working there, as a teacher? That might have been Taylor Moore, though, who we bought from Lens.

I knew I should’ve checked first…thought I was being all clever with my Can-Can Caen-Cannes.

Sound like good locations for development. Tomlin went to Cant.

Steve Watts
Interesting that home grown is English only, not UK. That bloody foreigner, Naismith!
