Genuinely did not know that and the first world cup I clearly remember was 1982. Never heard they're based on the FA colours.

Having said that though. I actually think that makes it worse not better. Who gives a **** about the FA? National shirts should mean national colours. I can't think of any other country in the world that adopted the colour of their football governing body..

Really? Italy for one.

Several teams wear colours different to their flag… Italy, Germany (both colours of their FA), Netherlands, Japan, Australia, New Zealand

Didn't think this was worth a new thread, but it talks kit prices.

She'd be pissed about the prices  nowadays then!!

It will never go back to it, or become the norm again, but it wasn't so long ago that a lot of clubs changed the away kits every 2 years. Wouldn't make as much money though would they....

Isn't the Netherlands to do with the ruling royal family from the House of Orange rather than their FA.

Didn’t mean to suggest they are all because of their FAs, I gave two examples Italy and Germany, and then other nations that wear colours different to their flag

It's a great story from Denmark / Hummel, but let's also be honest it's partly due to commercials.

Black out kits are very "in" right now, the all black shirt is very very nice. I love the City black out hoodie, also by Hummel.

Can see them shifting a lot of these kits, the story just adds to the attraction in my opinion.

It makes zero sense to me. If you do not want your brand to be associated with Qatar then either don’t supply kits at all or don’t have your logo/name/chevrons on there.
Regardless of the colour Hummel’s logo will be visible at the World Cup, in Qatar.

As an aside, it’s a really, really nice kit that would look great for us next season!
