Overall Boxing Day ticket sales are over 20k

I'd be disappointed it we weren't close to 25,000 by kick off. I hope WBA get a bigger allocation than 2500 or that will reduce the gate to 23,000. They should have close to 4,000 tickets, they would shift them no problem.

not bad considering its mid week, and no train services not even on any dodgy live TV feeds.

Allocation for West Brom on the boxing fixture is  2,500,not sure how many have been sold

Just a short journey vai M6 and/or A45. No worse or time consuming than Bristol to Gloucester. Or Ashton Gate to Swindon Town.

So not so wonderful fans as it would appear.

Including SC holders. I’m away over Xmas so my SC won’t be there but my seat will.

Not having a go at you Alan, but I did say ticket sales specifically…not fans through the turnstiles.  We all know that ticket sales are greater than “bums on seats”.  I don’t be there either.  Merry Xmas.

No buses on the day will have quite an impact as well I reckon.

Yep, but the quoted attendance will be at least 20k, regardless of who actually turns up.

True, but never been an issue before

Supporters have always found a way to get to the ground

Don't bank on that. Last I heard your seat was going for a long weekend in Torquay, saying it 'deserves a break'.

Do other cities have a Boxing day service or is the general rule that no buses run?

Speaking of crowds, that must have been the smallest "official" league crowd for several years v Stoke ?

Interesting that OS has 19,679, bbc had 15,617 until earlier today.  Now aligned.

Oddly enough I am away in Torquay at the end of January - bowls tour. It’s the only place that I’ve played indoor with a blue carpet.

It looks really odd………….:dunno:

BBC just taking back the extra 3,000 fans they gave us for the Watford game

.......

Stoke was the first weekend game under 20k this season I think?

Is it a "must attend" game?

I'd say so, have you seen the league table??? For us we need to get the three points and get climbing the table. For them, they are on a run towards the play offs, plus it is is Boxing Day, which is usually one of the best supported days of the season.

Robins works wonders with all the continual fall out at Cov, they could well be contenders again if they hold onto 'Super Vik' et al during the Jan window.

Which makes the position we are in all the more frustrating, if they can do what they are doing no money ground problems etc etc  why the hell can't we? dare I say it's down to our management, if only Robins was the manager of the Robins.

Always thought they were in a false position when we played them early October.

They were bottom but looked not bad albeit not a possession dominant side- could see they were really playing for Robins too or at minimum he hadn't lost the dressing room or anything similar.

The beauty of a sensible progression strategy, that doesn’t require a complete rebuild, and is several years in, so just tweaking each window, not sledgehammer.

The financial issues are more of a Cashflow issue than FFP, so different to ourselves.

Recruited so well upon promotion from Lg1. Over the past couple of seasons, O’Hare made perm from loan, Sheaf made perm from Loan, Gyokeres on the cheap after a very unimpressive loan at Swansea.  Hamer the “next level up” from Liam Walsh, you can see why they didn’t come back for him.  And a good pathway from Academy.  The only player of real note they’ve lost since coming back up is Hyam, who eased their Cashflow issues when he went to Blackburn earlier this season.  The two underlined bits we’ve got one right in recent times.  Hoping Tins can get the other one right.

A lot of lesions to be learned from theirs and Luton’s approach…although both have been to the brink, Luton even went to the Conference.

I know I’m a fan of Nige, but to compare Cov to us and then point the finger at our manager (if that’s what you’re doing by saying by the bit in bold) is really ignoring the times that happened before he was appointed and led to the situation he took over.  If you didn’t mean Nige, who do you mean?

But I ? agree with your frustration.  There’s quite a bit of anger too on my part, beyond the frustration.

I meant past and to a certain extent the present management, mostly the previous incumbents. I don't think Nige is completely blameless either though I do accept the job he took on was verging on poisoned chalice territory.

That’s fair.  He ain’t perfect, and no manager comes with a guarantee.  Even Pep can’t win the CL which is his no1 aim.

Back to Robins, just a good football man, full stop.  And an example at 53 today (22nd Dec) that you don’t have to be a youngster.

Quite right Rudy but as usual Rovers are ahead of the game.

Supporters who can see through Mr Al-Quidi’s “Barton Bubble” have already been sent to Coventry.
