Silvio Dante Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Get S4C on rather than BBC. Building to hell of a finish. 15 to go and 3-4, Cov down to 10 men Quote
MrBibs Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Flicked over to catch the end and missed 2 goals in the BBC match! Palmer missed a great chance to make it 4 4 Quote
Admin Phantom Posted January 7, 2023 Admin Posted January 7, 2023 Palmer still a show pony Decent free kick but not a lot else paid off Wrexham GK lucky right at the end flapping badly under his crossbar defending a corner Quote

Cov missed a bucketload of chances, Palmer with a particularly shocking miss from close range. Cracking free kick though, and he hit the post with one in the first half too. Gyokeres really is some player. 3 Quote

Bizarrely I think the Welsh commentary helped with the enjoyment (and I learnt the Welsh for “textbook” is “textbook”). KP I thought played well. Goal and assist. It was definitely Gyokeres coming on that changed the game, Wrexham couldn’t live with him. Quote

W-S-M Seagull Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I really enjoyed that. Should be a great episode on the documentary. Wrexham players were actually dead on their legs yet somehow managed to hold on. That really was impressive. 1 Quote
1960maaan Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Great effort TBF, really showing Div 5 in a good light. Chesterfield robbed too. Quote

Tacsi is taxi, Wrecsam is Wrexham, bws is bus!!! I'm almost getting fluent!!! 2 Quote

He may have been taking the piss mind! I speak a little. Because it's such an old language (older than English) some of the literal translations are hilarious. The welsh word for badger literally translates as "earth pig", ladybird is "little red cow" and my favourite is hamster which translates as "fat cheeks"! 2 2 Quote
BS3City Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Am I right in saying most Welsh place names require half a pint of phlegm to pronounce? 1 Quote
WarksRobin Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Cov-Wrex sounds like a pharmaceutical trademark Quote
B1ackbird Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Anyone remember the FA cup game v Wrexham in 78 ( I think) 4-4? 2 Quote
Shuffle Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Was a great game and when they went practically to the team we played, Wrexham struggled. Thought KP was very good as he was last week & seems to have finally found a home. Quote

From my uni days in West Wales I also remember the quite tragic "dim disco heno" (no disco tonight), and "dim parcio" (no parking). 1 1 Quote

No parking - dim parkio No cycling - dim cyclio So I guess when the hedlu start you just say dim hitio to them and they’ll cease beating the living daylights out of you 3 Quote
