On sale tomorrow - good pricing as well by the club.

ST holders have no seats reserved and Members/ST on sale concurrently. This could be

a) Due to our ticketing system failing or not being great for cup games

b) The club seeing if E34 can “put their money where mouth is” and buy tickets en masse for that block.

Given we are led to believe that most of the "E34 movers" are Under-22, I should think that a lot of them will be able to scrape £8 together for a ticket in E34.

I think I heard before, the reason for non reserved seats for season ticket holders is due to the fact that the upper Lansdown is closed.
It would be deemed unfair that some season ticket holders would have their seats reserved whilst some weren’t, ie, their seats aren’t available.

Poor show that season ticket seats aren't reserved, even if it was just until midday.

Season ticket holders seats are available for priority purchase tomorrow for the season ticket holders to purchase

They're not reserved past that as would be for a league fixture

Incorrect. The purchase window is for members and ST holders, with ST holders seats not being reserved for just them to purchase

My bad

I didn't interpret it that way

I'm surprised at the scheduling of this game. It's the Bedminster winter lantern parade at 4pm  that day when large parts of North St and the surrounding roads will be cordoned off. I'm sure this will have been arranged on a non football / rugby day

It would be massively tinpot of us to have to schedule our game for a Sunday because of some poxy lanterns.

This sounds like a Rovers excuse - we had a small crowd because of a lantern parade!

Didn't know much about the lantern parade, but looking at their website, they've raised an operating budget of 30k from local support, that's outstanding!

Don't know the route it takes, but would expect the 75/76 bus routes to be disrupted and traffic a lot more congested than usual after the game.

An annual parade that attracts some 5,000 visitors, i.e. not far off half City's attendance in the previous round, and no doubt gives a lot of joy to both participants and spectators alike.

My personal view is that it is not necessarily a 'tinpot' idea, but certainly insulting to describe the parade as being 'some poxy lanterns'.

Still, each to their own.

There are problems with season ticket holders not having their seat reserved when a group of people sit together. Unless their tickets are linked, and not everyone does this, there is no guarantee that they will be able to all book the same seats. The last time City did this some season ticket holders found that their seat had gone when they tried to book. Even when they went online early

Maybe so but it would definitely come across as being tinpot.

Imagine telling West Brom fans that they wouldn’t be able to travel down to Bristol on that weekend (rail works on the Sunday so no trains) because of some lanterns.

So a long standing community festival attracting 5,000 in close proximity to the stadium is 'tinpot'....

More people are expected to go (based on the numbers quoted in previous posts) than would fit in Block A! ?

Perhaps, but I still think it is unneccessary to describe the parade as being 'some poxy lanterns'.

In so far as it concerns postponing the match, I daresay it will go ahead, although the parade organisers will no doubt be disappointed as I should imagine they took in to account the fact that City should have been playing away that Saturday.

Reading the wording of this letter, they appear ready to move the date of the parade if something is going to happen at Ashton Gate

It's good that they have an alternative date in mind. Hopefully discussions will have taken place between AG and the organisers

The organisers have known pre Xmas re potential move as police would not sanction both events on same day.

Well this is annoying:

Someone I go with has booked his usual seat, and now I'm booking mine next to it. Because it leaves a gap of 1 seat to the end of the row it's not letting me... even though it's my season ticket seat.

Ridiculous!

Same here. it happened for the Lincoln game as well for me.  We might have a "HPC" but are mickey mouse in many ways. The only solution is to phone. I am position 15 in the queue!

This was happening for me too, until I realised that although the email link takes you to the ticket page you still have to sign in to your Bristol Sport account.

Once you do, you can buy your ticket(s).

I'll answer my own question.  Yes it is just me.  Especially if you don't sign in on the website, it won't let you buy a ticket.

It wouldn’t let me book 4 seats on the end of a row for the Birmingham game because it left 1 seat the other side!

Rang the office yesterday and was told my seats WOULD be available- today called to pay and was told “sorry seats are no longer available”

what absolute crap - to say I’m miffed would be putting it mildly

Not entirely your fault but you should have been told that seats are not reserved. Therefore if anyone pays for your usual seats online before you phone in that they will be gone.

I have moved 6 rows down from my normal seat which is higher in the South stand than I would ideally like. I'm sure my move will upset someone but cup games are unreserved and therefore a free for all.

They may be a free for all but 2 of our 3 seats are used by people with severe mobility issues and leg-room is very important- the seats were carefully chosen and allocated with the help of the club after all the changes forced on us by the rebuild - so expecting first dibs on those seats should be a given! Instead we will not be able to attend - loyalty is a 2 way thing! City would do well to remember that!

Yes it is very unfortunate, but the same thing applies to EVERY supporter that nobodies seat was reserved

Of course it impacts you differently, but give the club a call and I am sure that they will be able to find a suitable equivilent seat in the ground

Yes I do realise for a lot of disabled fans it’s hard , for me I can get about on my stick but struggle and because of that struggle don’t enjoy my experience at Ashton as much as I used to .Football clubs everywhere need to address this as offering someone a ticket on end of a line with restricted egress and access isn’t enough having to struggle to stand every 10 mins let someone out for a piss then back in. But best of luck and give Gerry a call hope he can help

I don't know what it's like now with Bristol Sport but before the ground refurb City used to be quite accommodating. Some years ago when my nephew broke his ankle and was on crutches they were happy to move us to the end of a row and specifically asked which leg it was so they could find us a seat on the right end.

Sorry all, I've booked a ticket for me and my pops for this one. We don't go to cup games much, the last two were Fulham knocking us out the FA Cup last season and the Lincoln fiasco this season.

Again, sorry.

Posted

I used to be a bit annoyed that season ticket seats weren't reserved, at least for a day - but then someone explained that as the Upper Lansdown wasn't open for the game, and there were Season Ticket holders up there who just couldn't buy their seats at all - then to allow "all Season Ticket holders" to buy a ticket of their choice - anywhere in the ground is the only fair way to do things.

I didn't get my usual seats for the Lincoln game so got online early to get them this time - it wouldn't have been the end of the world if I hadn't got them but you  miss the chat with the other usual supporters in your area.

What BCFC could have done was explain the reason why this action was taken rather than just say that your seat wouldn't be reserved!

Posted

Personally I'm not worried it's open season, I didn't even realise. We moved a few rows back in the lower Lansdown, so felt like a win.
What they could do, apart from actually telling people what's going on, they could easily do a day for STH to get their seats that are available, then a day for upper tier to have their pick and so on. Only adds one day to the procedure.
I know these things can be awkward , but just get the communication right FFS.
