Interesting Stat

Since the 1901/02 season City have scored:-

6804 goals in the league, 14 goals in the Play offs 453 in the FA Cup, 224 in the League Cup and a further 35 goals in the FA Cup before we became a league team.

That's a total of 7,530. Of course in an ideal world we'll be celebrating goal number 7.600 in April ?

To cheer up the dismal johnnies on here.; in the same time City have only conceded 7,186 goals.

Common denominator?

All have spent all 23 years in the EFL.

Once you start filtering out those teams that have spent time in the prem and those who have spent time in the conference, you’re left with a far smaller list than 72 teams to work from who have had the benefit of all 23 years - and even one season out is likely to reduce your goal tally by a minimum of 50-60.

So, not really that impressive or that interesting (sorry OP!)

Funny that our Goal Difference is nearly always either negative or around zero.
what does that say about our defence over the years if we are scoring all those goals?

League goals only; 55 seasons positive and 55 seasons negative. 2008/09 it was equal number scored and conceded.

Our best season 2014/15 with a + 58 goal diff. The worst was 1931/31 when it was - 39
