old_eastender Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Expecting Mehmeti to be on the bench Saturday. Hope Cornick is too, would be a travesty to drop Sam Bell from the starting 11 to accommodate him. I see him more as competing with Sykes? 1 Quote

Silvio Dante Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 I’d go unchanged. If you get the shirt for whatever reason and perform you deserve to keep it. That was our best performance of the season as a team, so barring injury, for me you keep the same team. Pring definitely unlucky not to be in but I think you have to reward that performance. 3 1 Quote
LondonBristolian Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 I reckon we will be unchanged but the fact the window closed on a Monday gives four days for Cornick and Mehmeti to make a case for themselves in training. Quote

Dasilva did play well but away at Preston I think Pearson will prefer the physicality that Pring brings. Quote
sglosbcfc Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 The bench will be stronger than it has been for quite a while. That will be needed as we seek to get to Wembley twice for the FA Cup Final and Play off final 1 Quote
1960maaan Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Bench looks decent. Haikin, DaSilva, Kalas, Cornick, Mehmeti, Weimann, Williams. Balance , game changers and can cover most positions. 3 Quote

Yeah, I would expect Pring to come in…he didn’t lose the shirt. Sykes, Tanner, Scott and Williams have all come straight back in this season, although Tanner’s was straight after the World Cup. Quote
sh1t_ref_again Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Funny how some think Jay should keep the place after an OK performance saturday over 1 of our best performers in many recent games, when DaSilva will not be here next year, yet HNM who was also not part of the future is was right to banish him! 2 Quote
Port Said Red Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Our first chance of doing the double over Preston for what seems like a long time. Saturday's performance seems to have excited people as well, as the club have had some more coaches for the trip. Maybe even more after the transfer activity? 1 Quote

In Stoke’s premier league years before every game when asked about the opposition he’d reply “you’ve only got to look at their bench, quality throughout” Seemed like every bloody week he’d come out with that line. 1 Quote

Pring & Weimann in for Dasilva & Sykes, the rest unchanged from WBA, Cornick & Mehmeti on the bench. Interesting use of capital letters.. Quote

WECANDO Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Sykes played pretty well against WBA. Set up Scott for his goal. Also scored a few recently. Leave him in and only make a change by bringing in Pring. All players starting know there are good players on the bench and must keep their performances at a high level. If you play well you keep your place. 3 Quote

Davefevs Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Maybe one of the few times this season Nige might have a bench where he can actually make tactical changes or freshen up without lowering the quality level. 3 Quote
sh1t_ref_again Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 Only change is an easy one of Pring for DaSilva, with regards Skyes & Weimann, would previously have put AW straight back in, but Skyes has done well, also thought when he came on for AW recently he looked better, AW seems to be struggling for form a bit this year 2 Quote
Lanterne Rouge Posted February 2, 2023 Posted February 2, 2023 I`d have Andi on the bench personally, ease him back in gently. You know if he starts he will play at 100mph and risk injuring himself again. Give him 20 at the end (depending on the state of the game of course). We have options now, let`s use them. 2 Quote

Good problem to have?? I think that Pearson will only change Pring for left back. The obvious ones for me to change are Sykes and Bell but Pearson doesn't do that kind of thing. Those who played and won against WBA, are the current incumbents and new signings will need to earn their place. 1 Quote
