I had just taken part in a school play (Androcles and the lion - i was a spear carrying soldier - somehow Hollywood never called) our english teacher, Mr Bull was quite errr...flambouyant, and we all had crazy costumes and even more crazy green and red make up on my dad had picked me up and we had gone to the pub, where i had to wait while he had a few pints. ( fair enough after having to sit through the play I suppose) when we walked in i noticed the (then) great Dickie Davies was sitting at the bar, and as I waited for my Dad, i couldn't help but notice he kept looking over at me. I felt quite uncomfortable, and wondered what the old pervert wanted, fortunately after a while we left, and it was only when i got home i realised i still had all my face paint still on and i looked like a complete nutter......... At the time, with only 3 channels, it seemed to be decent entertainment. It would be laughed at now, because in reality it was utter crap !
