22A Posted March 17, 2023 Report Share Posted March 17, 2023 The relatives of those killed at Hillsborough in 1989 demanded the Police office in charge face criminal prosecution, which of course he didn't. In Indonesia the officer in charge when 135 people were killed in a stadium crush has been given a 18 month sentence. He ordered tear gas to be fired into the crowd causing a rush to the exits. The pain of this event understandably ran very deep (and still does) the way the deceased and bereaved were treated by Govt/Police/Media all the way down to the man on the street was appalling and shames us all. When we played there in the early 00's (when we were on that winning streak) the layout and particularly the stewards were aggressively useless.
