As a schoolboy, I saw Atyeo play including home to Chichester in the cup when he scored 5 and away to Shrewsbury in the league when he scored 4. I was too young to appreciate his ability and just accepted he’d score approx 20 goals each season. Assist weren’t measured in those days but he must have managed quite a few, often with a header to one of the other forwards. What was amazing was he scored 5 goals in 6 England internationals but was dropped for the 58 World Cup.
