He’s probably the natural predecessor to Colin as the biggest ass wipe that we love to hate ?

No, he’s too good for Southampton!!!  He told us.

Would love him at Cardiff and to do shit.

Back to the village he escaped. Hopefully Nessa will still be single and waiting.

Yes. Unfortunately. Can see him improving them.

At Luton he had a stellar recruitment team, Cardiff by comparison are clown shoes. Think they brought in 17 last summer, many of whom have barely featured & yet are under contract for at least another year.

O’Dowda was seen by their supporters as one of the better recruits…

Seen it suggested that Lamouchi had 5 new players lined up.

Again that and Cardiff's possible financial position don't quite align so maybe these are connected.

See above, unless they can offload a lot of players I doubt they can do that much business.

This is an issue Ipswich will have to overcome too.  Ipswich have plenty of financial wiggle room though, so can afford to have players contracted who aren’t in their 25 man squad.  But we know what having disenfranchised players around can do, don’t we?

So much for all of the Cardiff fans social media around Tan "really going for it next season" and "he's putting in £20-25m" type quotes.

You try and explain FFP, and Tan can't simply put in x amount of money. Unless of course he completely gambles like Forest, Bournemouth or Fulham did in order to get to the PL.

This managerial development today just smacks of more cost cutting for next season, and having to do more with less.

You can imagine the conversation between Lamouchi and Tan when the reality of the financial situation became apparent.

I'm convinced and have been for a while that a reason they are driving the Sala issue so much is in order to try and gain at least another year of Parachute Payments. Maybe more given the numbers being touted but at bare minimum.

Bournemouth and possibly Fulham were just within limits. The £72m Upper Loss Limit helps a a lot (2 PL, 2 Champ, add 4, divide by 4 and x 3).

Nottingham Forest I have compliance questions about. Their argument for Projected Covid losses last sesson is £9-10m above an EFL agreed limit of £2.5m..this maybe material to their position.

The new rules should prevent it anyway, as if in the reasonable view of the League a breach is on the horizon, based on the club's own Projections then the League can impose appropriate monitoring requirements or work with the club to seek to prevent a breach.

Yes, I just have a gut feeling he'll get more out of their squad than this season, irrespective of any recruitment, limited or otherwise, that they do in the summer.

As Neil has just put it, they need to do more with less and Jones might be just the man for that.

Hopefully not, obviously. Hopefully the useful loans they've had this season can't be replaced, Robinson continues to be injured, Sawyers continues to be not what he was, O'Dowda continues to be O'Dowda, and the whole sorry shower collapses like a pack of cards into relegation, never to be seen again. We can but dream - it's what the off season is for!

How close are Cardiff to breaching ffp?

By my reckoning they need to improve their financial position from 2021-22 by an average of £11-11.25m across this and next season.

In short they lost £26m pre tax in 2021-22. Inclusive or say £5m in usual allowables and £2.5m in Covid costs.

Possibly combined pre tax they can only lose £30m across 2022-23 and 2023-24. Maybe a little more or a little less but their headroom has been shrinking annually to 2022, 2023 and 2024.
