By my reckoning they need to improve their financial position from 2021-22 by an average of £11-11.25m across this and next season.

In short they lost £26m pre tax in 2021-22. Inclusive or say £5m in usual allowables and £2.5m in Covid costs.

Possibly combined pre tax they can only lose £30m across 2022-23 and 2023-24. Maybe a little more or a little less but their headroom has been shrinking annually to 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Legal fees don't count towards FFP do they!? ?

Rumours Sol Bamba offered the job ?

That was widely predicted on the Cardiff forum. Not quite sure why Tan and Lamouchi fell out, but probably budgetary issues, with a novice like Bamba being more compliant I guess.

Have to agree with Gabbidon realistically given the volatile nature of the position given they've had 5 managers in 2 years (not including caretakers) who would decide "yeah that's the job I want". Given you wouldn't have any money to spend, an unbalanced squad and being at a club going through the legal process with the name being dragged through the mud.

In my opinion they are my early candidates for one of the three relegation spaces next season.

There seems to be a lot of uncertainty with a few clubs in this league at the moment. Which of course gives us an advantage.

Watford

Cardiff

West Brom

QPR

Birmingham

Stoke

Off the top of my head, all with big summers ahead of them. I really think Cardiff will struggle again…

Stoke are supposed to be going big this season so thst may change and propel them forward. All the same uncertainty and such will benefit the more presently stable clubs such as ourselves.

Let’s see how this plays out, there’s going big from a good starting position, and going big from a poor starting position!

Will certainly be one to watch. A lot of players leaving means that some of the going big could just be clawing back to parity let alone improving.
