Either way, given he's got money in the family, money in the bank, business interests and was no doubt offered a decent wage here, I'm surprised the boyhood club and legacy factors didn't lure him here. The discussions have been going on for months, that's how things work when a player is coming to the end of a contract and knows he won't be getting a new deal. There are plenty of other options, out there, that can be a backup / future replacement for Pring. Strengthening at CB, DCM & and another GK to challenge MOL would be my priority signings. A bonus would possibly be us signing a target man type striker, and Scotty signs an extension to his current contract and stays for one more season (injuries permitting, I can only see his value going up).
