shahanshahan
Will be making my way to Milton Keynes shortly for this. England/BCFC flag ready! Former City academy player Katie Robinson is used on the matchday graphic. I expect former City player Tatiana Pinto may play for Portugal England v Portugal Women's World Cup Send-Off Match 3.15pm BST, Saturday 1 July 2023 Live on ITV StadiumMK, Milton Keynes All the below info taken from England Football website - England are unbeaten against Portugal in all competitions (P9 W7 D2), only facing Finland (13), Northern Ireland (12) and Switzerland (11) more often in their history without ever losing. - This will be the first meeting between the Lionesses and Portugal since October 2019 in a friendly (a 1-0 win for England in Portugal) and the first time the two sides have met on English soil since February 2002 in a World Cup qualifier (a 3-0 win for England). Indeed, England have won all three of their home games against Portugal by an aggregate scoreline of 8-0. - The Lionesses suffered their first defeat under Sarina Wiegman last time out against Australia (0-2). The last time they lost back-to-back games was in their final two matches before the Dutchwomen took charge in April 2021, under Hege Riise. Indeed, England have gone two games without a win (D1 L1) having failed to win only two of their previous 21 (W19 D2). - This will be England’s final game before the 2023 Women’s World Cup. The Lionesses have lost their last game before each of the five World Cups they have qualified for (1995, 2007, 2011, 2015 & 2019), while only heading into the 1995 edition have they lost two on the bounce prior to their World Cup opener. - Having won eight consecutive games between September 2022 – February 2023, Portugal have since gone winless in their last two, losing to Japan (2-1) and drawing with Wales (1-1) last time out. - England have won their last three games played on a Saturday without conceding a single goal, having lost four such matches on the bounce prior to this run. - No player has played more minutes (360), been involved in more goals (3), or provided as many assists (2) as Lucy Bronze for the Lionesses in 2023, while only Ella Toone (12) has created more chances for England than Bronze (10) in this calendar year. - Rachel Daly has been involved in six goals across her last five starts for England (5 goals, 1 assist), netting in each of her last three starts (4 goals).
shahanshahan
Starting XI for England. No Millie Bright (who was named as captain in Leah Williamson's absence), so Mary Earps is captain instead

Sleepy1968
Can you have too many chances? Just need a finish.
Eddie Hitler
Please stop starting new threads @shahanshahan as I have to keep ignoring them. Just have one women's England team thread as you do one women's Bristol City team thread and put them all on that one. I wouldn't say that you are the only one interested in this but it often seems like it. Don't bother to reply as I am just about to Ignore this thread as I have to do for all of your threads and AFAIK there is no Unignore function so I won't see it. 2 1 2 2

Only able to read this as you responded to a poster I don't ignore. Wish I hadn't read it tbh, no need for your mean spirited response.

So we will just have one England's men teams thread shall we? So you have to ignore the thread, OTIB should be inclusive . There are plenty of threads I ignore on OTIB and that's what I do, not comment on the fact I ignore them.
Tully Bascomb
I would imagine that many of us are interested and if not, ignore.
Porto Red
I'm not particularly interested in it either, but there are plenty of topics that don't interest me much and this fact doesn't bother me in the slightest, I have no problem with @shahanshahan - or anyone else - posting about something he is passionate about.
shahanshahan
For a 0-0, the game was rather entertaining. Bit worrying that England haven't been able to score a goal since the Finalissima back in early April. Portugal will be the happier with that result. England will have one more warm-up game against tougher opposition in Canada, which will be behind closed doors & take place in Australia... Took a fair few snaps from Saturday...

Well that will be awkward when I post new things in regards to the Supporters Club & Trust e.g. notices of upcoming meetings
