So much better without VAR hovering to pounce I cannot tell you how much I loathe VAR. You can’t celebrate, your fingernail can be offside, and even then they get decisions wrong. I kind of liked the controversial decision's. Edited January 6 by Ghost Rider

petehinton
Sunderland have been absolutely pathetic. Basically time wasting with no intent to attack first half, at home in a derby. Not going to do Beale any favours at all, considering he’s already not exactly the most likeable character anyway.

If I were a Sunderland fan I’d be fuming. Absolutely zero passion. At least give it a go.

Newcastle should clearly be in their third kit (dark blue block colour).

We “missed” our opportunity…after his Blackpool loan (from Arsenal), it was Millwall who he got his Championship loan experience before signing for Sunderland in summer 2022. Harry on him v.early during that Blackpool loan, me later to the party! He had an excellent game in the playoff for Blackpool v Oxford, where funnily enough, Atkinson had a really tough night against Ellis Simms.

To be fair I’ve literally seen 80 minutes of him playing so I can’t really say. From what I’ve seen though he looks a real talent. petehinton
Would honestly be enough for me to want Beale gone asap if I was a Sunderland fan. Take your only striker off at 2-0 down. Theyve been absolutely pathetic, shown no interest in the game and allowed Newcastle to take the piss. Unforgivable stuff
Numero Uno
You would have thought, having outplayed a very impressive and top end Bristol City side, despite losing 1-0, Sunderland would have approached the game with more confidence……..
