formerly known as ivan
Hadn’t notice first couple of times watching but just seen it again and Wells clearly trips the defender when in the box. 100% not intentional but surprised the ref didn’t see more in it and potentially call a foul. Certainly not complaining, will take favourable decisions every game. Were we lucky that the goal stood? Apologies if mentioned elsewhere.
Rocking Red Cyril
Just shows how totally inept and **** the ref was.

But then he didn't give a blatant penalty on Sykes after that, so.......

Looked like they should have had one as well for Naismith handball. As already said, maybe sums up the refs overall performance
Davefevs
No way is that a foul. Just an off the ball coming together. You could easily argue the defender initiated the contact by being turned inside out.
Never to the dark side
When I first saw it I thought Wells had brushed the back of the defender with the front of Naki Wells chest. I think Wells was more interested in looking where the cross was coming into. The defender kept looking behind him to initiated the foul by running across Wells When the defender went down he was the only Swansea player than appealed while he was on the deck
Vespa Red
What goes around etc... In our favour for once. I can live with that
BLRed
Think the defender intentionally did it knowing they were up the creek hoping the ref would call the play back and disallow a fourth goal. For once, the ref saw sense
Monkeh
No foul, it's a coming together of players that's all, happens all over the pitch
BS13 Robin
If you watch it again, the defender only appealed after Sykes scored,he had plenty of time to appeal before!

That's a bit silly. Sykes was shooting as he falls to the floor after being tripped Impossible decision for the ref really. You can definitely make a good argument for either side
